Hi Ebeneezer, no you are not alone, I've just read through and realised that I did not post last week.
I stayed the same last week but much to my disgust have gained back 2lb this week. I have been poorly sick which is no excuse but am back on the wagon now.
I've quit my night job and as soon as my police check is through start somewehre new on days - 2 benefits, no more suffering from lack of sleep, so no more metabolism all over the place and erratic meals and it will mean walking one way each day, 2 miles every day for 5 days a week.
It's been a pretty stressful time the last 2 weeks and having to be off sick has made me realise just how tired I am and how 'out' my sleep patterns are.
Anyway see you all next week. keep up the good work.

As a female it's more difficult for you to monitor weight loss due to monthly cycles and water retention etc...

Rather than be disappointed at weight gain you should always compare your weight to the previous month, not the weekly results. Your weight will never go down every week, but as long as the general trend is coming down you are doing something right.

Thank you John, with all that's gone on this last cople of weeks it does feel rotten to have gained the weight - but, yes I do weigh less than I did last month.

Hello all.....it is my first time in this thread and I'm trying my hardest to shift some weight that my previous unhealthy lifestyle has left me with.

I wanted to lose the weight on my own and read a book called Slim4Life by a guy called Jason Vale. This chap is best known as the juice master but this book is more about understanding the reasons as to why we keep making the wrong food choices....in all honesty I would have to say that this is the best diet book I've ever read and I've looked at a few.
  • Hello all, can't remember when the last time I posted was.I had lost 9lbs since Sept by half term, but then put 4 back on while away on holiday, I'm now back to a 7lb loss. Am just trying to eat healthily and stand on the scales every day.I do not expect to lose weight every day, but just want to check it's not going back on!
  • Hi there. I haven't read all this thread (I am at work...! Shhh don't tell...) but wanted to say that I lost about half a stone simply by stopping having a wheat based meal every meal (now just one) and by using my lunchtimes to go out for walks. I did cut back on dairy too somewhat.

Edit: Replaced dairy with soya products to ensure I still get the necessary nutrients!

For breakfast I make my own muisli with porridge oats, seeds & sultanas.
For lunch I have 2 granary rolls with salad & a cereal bar with some fruit too
For dinner I have rice or potatoes with heaps of veggies and/or tofu type stuff.

I am a vegetarian but I did need to shift that half stone at the time - now I have a lot more energy.

Could do with shifting stubborn bits around bottom & thighs but hey, I'm a woman, those areas will always be a problem I think for me!
