.... hi there .... I joined an 'online' slimming club to take advantage of there free trials ... it really got me motivated ... checking out fat & calorie contents etc etc ... anyway ... that was three month ago when I was 12st,13lbs ... and now ... 11st,6lbs :j
  • Hoodia was investigated on the BBC the other week and the scientists they used said there is insufficient of anything in it to make it work for weight loss.

I have lost 1 1/2 stone by lowering my calorie intake and upping my exercise. Been a bit lazy these last two weeks as have been on holiday and out and about but from Sunday will be back on the regime to lose the holiday pounds and then another 1/2 stone by beginning of December.

It is definitely a case though of preparing your own food as the amount of unnecessary fat and calories in prepared things can make it really hard to shift the weight.

Yes Gilly contact me when you get back, I will be brave and weigh myself  Do you have a similar amount to lose?
  • I find yoga to be really effective especially around the tummy and waist. Since i started yoga my posture has improved and my tummy muscles are so much more taut. Also i swim and use a kickboard. Again, very very good for bums, tums and legs.

Hi, I lost 54lb with weight watchers 4 years ago but the combination of a sterilization failure, baby No.3, yet another csesarian and a shed load of other problems - including the loss of our home, 3 family berevements, etc, etc, has led to me putting it all back on and more.
I am heartily sick of weighing what I do and like you guys it is basically a lack of motivation to do anything about it.
I would be also be up for a challenge if you guys were interested.

    Hi Gilly,

Do you fancy a weight loss challenge?

I am about 2 stone overweight also, but would be quite happy with losing a stone before Christmas.

PM me if you would like to do so.

    All the best

Did you see You are what you eat this week, lady lost 3 1/2 stone and looked fab. It's what made me realise you can quickly make such a difference in how you look. I have the book, but TBH have never read it, it seems quite drastic, don't know how long I could stick to it. Anyone stuck to it?

Looks like we have quite a few up for it :T

Yup. I lost a stone. I joined a gym and made myself go everyday - 1 hour workout and then an hour in the pool/sauna. When I couldn't afford the gym, I just started walking EVERYWHERE. And cooking everything from scratch. Then I went to my dr because I was sick of losing weight only to gain it again. She gave me some medication (Orlistat. Trade name Xenical) that has meant I'm now losing a steady 1lb a week (as long as I keep an eye on my diet and exercise). Two stone so far! Yay!

I've never heard of Xenical, so I did a search on Google and found this http://www.second-opinions.co.uk/xenical.html
