My parents are going away and have just had a good quote from Help the Aged. The owner of the travel agent they use uses them for his own travel insurance rather than the company his agency offers to travellers!0

Hello everyone, this is my first posting so any mistakes are purely mine.
I am looking to find cheap but reliable travel insurance for a couple of friends of mine aged 65 and 71 respectively.I have found a quote for £38.09p and wondered if this was around the norm. They would be travelling for one week to Spain.at the beginning of June
If anyone could reccommend a company i would be grateful.
Thanks in anticipation

Thanks to the links on the website, I have just booked travel insurance for one year for my husband age 65 with diabetes and high blood pressure and myself at a total cost of only £80 with insureandgo.com. This was cheaper than any other quote and the rest did not cover my husbands medical condition.
Hope this helps someone else0 -
A friend of mine (aged 90) with heart problems got yearly travel insurance for two cruises this year from Age Concern. Unfortunately, on the first cruise, she had a fall on the ship before it left dock and has now been in hospital for several weeks.0

Hi
I just had three quotes for 81 year old travelling to Australia from UK..
Egg £79.43 : Help the Aged £160.53 : Age Concern £134.50
Any other ideas? Anyone have any idea what a "good price" is for such a trip?
Also, do I have to call these "pre-existing medical conditions" a brain haemorrhage 20 years ago, hip replacements 10 and 5 years ago??? She is not receiving any medication for any of these ..... so do I have to mention them??
Thanks for your help folks0 -

In a word, yes. If (God forbid) there were some incident related to either the haemorrhage or the hip replacement during the period of travel, you risk having the claim turned down for non-disclosure.
Much better to be safe in this situation and disclose everything, but stress that there have been no subsequent complications and there is no ongoing medication required.
Honesty is the best policy when it comes to insurance cover.0 -
Got cover with Marks and Spencer for £85.40 - all medical history disclosed......not too bad!0
