VJsMum - what about decoupaging part of the furniture and paint the knobs, as they can be a bit fiddly. My tablet won't link today, but pinterest captain america decoupage, there's some lovely items.

Did just that with some old furniture.

After - just with wrapping paper. I did the drawers, mirror and wardrobe doors.

As I was doing it the lazy way and only going to put paper on the front of the drawers and leave them pine - but did not like it so painted them white after - but note to self - do the painting first next time!! Had the £1 mirror from charity shot and did it with leftover bits. Old furniture so nothing to lose!

I used Mod Podge bought off Amazon. sealed with 2 coats of Mod Podge. You could seal with varnish but I have not bothered. However I may do my computer desk and would varnish that as it gets saily use - these I figured would be ok. Little acrylic knobs off Amazon - 10 for £3.13 I think. They didn't fit the drawers or I would have used them there too.

Wrapping paper had creases that would not iron out but they disappeared once stuck on.

7roland8, looks good. I have the unit that I am working on in pieces at the moment. The paper is ready to decoupage onto the inside of the drawers and because it will be too brash in colour, I will thin some white emulsion and paint over it a couple of times to age it, a good excuse to glue first and paint after.:rotfl:

My up-cycled cupboard to hold all my history files and papers.

Used Edith Holden's Edwardian Lady book off Amazon for £2.

I only found this thread today - I love it. I've been wanting to paint my bedroom furniture for ages - there's nothing wrong with it but I want it white, and was worried about painting it.

I can't remember who posted the link about ESP but I've looked at the reviews on Amazon for it and everyone raves about it - so I'll be using that, plus a nice eggshell finish in white.

    Brilliant thread. :T

This is a recent make of mine. A decoupaged key holder with an old key for a key to hang on!
