7roland8 I love the comic decoupage. It would definitely look great with the frame painted too. Well done! It's great when you try new things0

Another question wise people! Is there a paint you can get that or some finish that is similar to pine - rather than a colour. So if I had a peice of furniture and I wanted it to look like pine or the colour of pine?
I think my idea is stupid mind lol and I should just go out and buy a pine peice instead if I wanted it. Just wondered if anything like that existed out of curiosity!
There is this paint 'Paint and Grain' http://www.diy.com/departments/ronseal-paint-grain-antique-pine-special-effect-paint-15l/127861_BQ.prd- but might be cheaper to just buy the pine furniture!Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
Supersaver - thanks! The cabinet is pained in Annie Sloane duck egg blue.
7roland8 - LOVE your decoupaging! Something like that would look great on my son's vintage school desk..I may have to steal your ideaMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Just wanted to show off my fab new (vintage) Ercol coffee table. I've been after one for ages as I am really loving the Mid Century look in our front room
We now officially have to move into a house as I have filled our maisonette with as much vintage furniture as I can shoehorn in!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
It is so easy to do Metranil Vavin. Have seen people do it with BEANOs or any comic book really. Lots of old annuals are cheap second hand on Amazon or ebay. Another look I like is when people use old maps - or take an atlas apart.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0

I am going to decorate them with lace and vintage papers and sell them as home decor. But i really think they will look better with stoppers in.
However they are all different sizes and I don't want to be getting loads of different sizes of corks etc which is a bit hit and miss anyway,
Could i get old corks and cut them down do you think? i am going to glue them in place anyway, no-one will be storing anything in the bottles.
Corks are a beast to cut IMO! I have a lot of old bottles with marbles on the top, it looks cute & stops the grime getting inside. There are some fab altered bottles on Pinterest, maybe you can spot a top there. Artistic drippy candle stumps maybe?
marbles are a great idea, as are door knobs, thanksYou're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0 -
Has anyone experience of painting leather shoes? Or upcycling them in any other way. There are a few instructionals on the tinterweb, but wondered if any MSEers have any tips. I'm thinking of glamming up some courts for a dance.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10
