Im after a bit of advice if I may?
We have permission off our landlord to paint our very dated 80's flat feont kitchen cupboards. I have used primer and then a cupboard paint but I really do not like the high gloss sheen.
I would like a matt effect but can only think of chalk paint and unsure how that would cope with the demands of a kitchen.
Any advice or opinion to share? I would appreciate it a great deal... thanks0 -
Ok so who does chalk paint? Where is cheapest? I've seen the sloan ones but they are quite pricey.
If you click on "search this thread" written on green towards the top of the page, then write chalk paint in the drop down and click then you will find listed every reference in the thread, commercial brands and recipes as well as ways to use0 -
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0

I have also moved the cabinet I painted away from the window and onto the back wall in the kitchen. It covers the radiator which obviously isn't ideal, but it can stay there for now whilst we don't need the radiator on.
and this is where I have got to on the cupboards!
Looks gorgeous Metranil. Can I ask what colour the cabinet is please? I have two corner units I'd like to paint.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Not sure what people will make of my first attempt at decoupaging! Had marked bedside tables given by friend who was moving and decided to give them a Rupert makeover. Must say I used a duplicate annual from Amazon and not one of my own. I used Mod Podge to stick and varnish - but I think you need a sealer to properly finish them off. The box was just a nice sized cardboard one I thought would go nicely for storage in my Rupert cupboard.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
Its really cute. Its inspiring me. Are you leaving it pine or going over the whole thing? I can see it in my minds eye as a nice cream colour and a different knob.0

Yes good point Maysie. Not too well so don't have a lot of stamina for big paint jobs so just did this a bit at a time. But it has inspired me to look at furnature differently and it would look good painted.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0

Another question wise people! Is there a paint you can get that or some finish that is similar to pine - rather than a colour. So if I had a peice of furniture and I wanted it to look like pine or the colour of pine?
I think my idea is stupid mind lol and I should just go out and buy a pine peice instead if I wanted it. Just wondered if anything like that existed out of curiosity!0 -
