My two plates - and I still have loads of pictures left over to use. I may try a glass one next time and put the pictures underneath.

    Hi
I was wondering if anyone more knowledgable than me could give me some help.
About a month ago I sanded and waxed a tabletop. It looked great at first... But now the wax seems to have worn off quite a lot.
I used annie Sloan clear wax. Am I being unrealistic with the durability of wax, or should I have used a different, more hard wearing wax on the unpainted surface? I've used Annie's wax on her paint many times and it's been fine- I suppose it bonds with the paint and is more hardwearing, but my tabletop is just not looking how I want it to be!
    Any advice gratefully received.

Do you use the table a lot? I wouldn't expect wax to be hard-wearing

No wax is going to be tough enough for a dining table that is cleaned regularly. You're better off removing the wax finish and using a few thin coats of varnish. If you don't want a shiny plasticcy look, try a matt varnish. Go with waterbased. They are very tough nowadays and won't yellow over time like oil based varnish will.

    Thanks Emma Kate
I think you are right. I would have to re wax it every week to keep it looking good. I have got some Matt water based varnish from another project and I like the finish, so I'll try that.
Oh well. I'll get there in the end!

Right people! Hit me with your storage unit/boxes etc for your paints, brushes, stencils etc? I've started collecting the bits and now I don't know where or how to store them lol
