You can buy Valspar paint in B&Q, I think they mix the paint for you with whatever colour you choose. You may be able to get the sealant there also, if not I'm sure they will have something similar.

Would masonry paint work for this, with a sealant over it.
You can get tester pots in masonry paint. I would be tempted to try colouring a white textured paint and then a sealant or yacht varnish over the top.0 -

Hth.
Thanks Janebo, yeah they do do the Valspar paint but I don't think they do the floor and porch paint here.....I could be wrong but had a quick look and couldn't see anything like it unfortunatelyDollyDabbler wrote: »Would masonry paint work for this, with a sealant over it.

Good idea Dolly, am just nervous since I have heard about people having terrible looking patio after painting with masonry and there just nor much you can do to fix it. Vanish/sealant with some sand thrown in for grip might be the answer.....just wish that you could buy specific products made for the job which I knew would work. What would you get to colour the white paint with? The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

Oh and what about a primer? I think it might help the colour to last but can't seem to find anything suitable.......TiaThe secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.

I am wanting to paint my patio, like this but can't find any of the products that they mention, does anyone have any idea of what I could try? Have searched and searched can't find anything but garage floor paint in either red, dark green or fluorescent yellow which is definitely not what I am after
If you go to a trade paint place, Crown or Johnstones are good (Dulux is ridiculously expensive) I'm sure they'd help you out. They have a much bigger range of colours than the diy stores and I've heard that Johnstones will match to any colour (even named colours). Trade products are made much better than diy paint and will give you a much better finish. They'll be able to tell you which product will work best for you.0 -
Hi bluebellbunny
Just done some more research, it looks as though that particular paint is only available in the US!
It may be best to do as OP has suggested and ask about trade paints - good luck in your search, I hope you find what you are looking for!Thrifty Gifty February make £20 challenge £21.05/£20.0 -
Hi,
You could try artist tints to colour small amounts of masonry paint.
I would paint a slab with a primer and work out how much paint was needed, then measure that amount out x 2 so you have enough for 2 coats and tint that quantity.
Use a primer, that might help the paint to adhere to the surface.
Have you got a piece of a slab you could have a go with first?
Found this company who do lots of floor paints

including a sealer.
When you have finished your project, will you give us a report on how it went etc, as in the summer I would like a go at making and painting some concrete pots.0 -
Hi All,
I brieftly dipped into the world of upcycling last year. I had an old wooden trug in the garden that needed a coat of paint. So I sanded cleaned and painted it up with some garden wood paint and it came up ok.
I have a small photo frame I want to paint and stencil some flowers onto.
My main question is how do I do this? All I can see at the DIY store is big pots of paint for wood. I am ideally after tester sizes of alsorted colours for the flowers etc. Can you get a mixed paint pad similar to kids paints with all the colours? But obviously not kids! Don't want to waste money on tons of individuals or lots of bigger pots if I can get a pad of them somewhere.
Later on down the line I am looking at painting up an old mdf wardrobe and chest of drawers set. How do I go about that for the paint to "stick" to the shiny surface?
Thanks all in advance!0
