In the shop I get my paint from, they actually have a pot of wooden spoons each painted in a different AS colour to give an idea of the colour! Do you think the paint would wear off with washing up?
It might wear off. I must admit I have utensils I don't use much as they're a nice colour and look nice in my utensil pot. I hide the horrid ones that have gone a funny colour or I've somehow managed to melt in a drawer!0 -
Actually I have been toying with the idea of lining all my cupboards and the fridge with cellophane wrap so if it gets mucky its easy to pull out and throw. I have this huge roll from 3 years ago and I am not halfway though. I saw it on pintrest. Has anyone seen this or has had a go? My wrap is clear with white spots. Maybe use glue dots to keep it in place nicely as well.
Sounds good. Mum used to have sticky backed plastic on her shelves to make them wipeable. Cellophane and glue dots would work in the same way while being easier to remove if you want to later on.0 -

yes, eventually. I have an outside post box lid painted in raw chalk paint and it's lasted months in the rain. But I use my kitchen cutlery to stir my home made paint and it does wash clean afterwards!0 -
I've not been painting for a while but I intend to finish my kitchen this week. I think I need to give it a third coat. Did anyone else using the AS chalk paint use the wax too? It seems like hard work so I've gone and bought a spray clear varnish. Do you think that will work ok over the paint?0
-
quite a few people choose to use varnish instead of wax for greater protection or for ease of application. If you click on "search this thread" in the green bar towards the top of the page and type "varnish" into the drop down box you;ll be able to see all the references to it in the thread. Thank you, I didn't realise you could search in a thread!
I'm going to use the spray varnish and hope for the best (I wasn't even aware that you could buy spray on varnish until I was in b&q today!)0 -

This might not be the right place to ask but this is the only thread that I am on where there is a chance of some advice so here goes! I am wanting to paint my patio, like this but can't find any of the products that they mention, does anyone have any idea of what I could try? Have searched and searched can't find anything but garage floor paint in either red, dark green or fluorescent yellow which is definitely not what I am afterThe secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.
