I did have success with an ikea step stool. I used a tester pot of Craig and rose chalky emulsion from b&q and it looks fab with only one coat. I'm now searching for things to paint in my house!0 -

It looks amazing! I often use a piece of glass to protect a painted surface too. You can put a cup of tea on it without causing any damage. Did you paint your mirror too? It looks like a complete matching set now. The power of paint!

I've now given my kitchen a first coat and it's looking good so far. I can't believe how a £20 can of paint is transforming it!
When I figure out how to post photos I will. I'm using my iPad and no idea how to do it on here.0
