Loving all the makeovers, I've had a go at doing my own chalk paint the problem I seem to have is the dark wax bit.
Think I've overdone it a bit, can anyone please describe what a aged effect should look like.
I think my wardrobe looks a bit patchy not aged

I went mad with the dark wax in the beginning - I painted over a couple of things as the hubs said it just looked dirty. Now I dilute it with clear wax and just keep to ornate carved bits so it goes in the crevices.

another example
Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan Old White, waxed with clear, buffed. I then mixed some dark wax with mineral spirits and painted in the grooves w/ a small brush}

I think I've sorted myself out, I diluted the wax dark in spirits and used it more of a wash on my wardrobe doors.
I had already done the sides of the wardrobe but they were so dirty looking, I've removed most, just leaving a bit on with spirits.
Every night this week the wardrobes been different colours!
Nice table chalky, yes dark wax does look dirty that's what my oh said, I think its ok on small pieces but not sure on larger items.0 -

I bought this today, it cost me a whole £10. Not sure what to do with it though, it has a few dents and scratches on the top. I think I might like to paint it but not sure what colour - do you think an off white would suit it?

What a bargain. It is lovely. My son recently bought a pine chest of drawers and painted it with home made chalk paint and it looks lovely.Keep on trucking!0 -
I spent the morning priming a really derelict chest of drawers, then went to a display cabinet I bought at the same time and it had 3 wood worm holes. Carefully filled a syringe with fluid and injected it. As I was putting the stuff away I noticed it said "wood stain" on the tin, not "wood worm fluid" ... gaga already. So we went to the beach via two charity shops, and the chest of drawers is in the middle our kitchen.0
