Whatever you choose I would think about throws or granny square blankets draped here and there. My cat sleeps on them and I whisk them away if a posh visitor arrives! And they are easy to wash or shake out.
pretty
warm
I love this for me!
Thanks for this. I think the first one is one that we liked too, but didn't know what to put with it or if we should just have the whole sofa in that colour.
The flooring is laminate and the light comes from one window which will be opposite one sofa and on a wall perpendicular to the other... Does that change your view?0 -
a north facing window gives a rather cold light, bluish. I had a living room with green carpet and teal sofa with a north light and it was like walking in to an aquarium. The colours reflected on the cream walls and turned them slightly green too. I was glad to put down honey coloured laminate and an orange throw - it's quite cosy now.
I like warm colours, but some people are happier with blues and greys, it's a personal taste.
me personally, I wouldn't mix fabric colours on one piece of furniture, but having two sofas in complimentary colours would be nice.0 -
Oh, I don't know which way the house faces. Must get my compass out next time I'm there
I've ordered some larger samples of the fabrics I really like so I'm hoping that will shed a bit more light on the whole thing. Will let you know if I ever make a decision.0 -
in an optimistic moment I bought this vintage wardrobe which has been daubed with gloss paint. Hoping it will go up the stairs and that I can make something of it.
It's being delivered next week with a van load of other furniture :eek:0 -

Hi, I've been restoring/repurposing furniture for years now but thought I'd try using wallpaper inside the drawers of my next project. Does anyone have any recommendations on what sort of glue to use please? I'm thinking a spray adhesive or decoupage glue but not sure if it would work.0

I've stuck post it notes on DDs chest of drawers to try and get her to put stuff away in some kind of order (rather than scooping it off the floor and stuffing it in anywhere there is a space!). And labelled them E.g 'Tops' ,bottoms' etc.
I was wondering if anyone could think of something a bit more shabby chic than post it's? I'd rather it wasn't permanent if possible. They are cream painted wooden drawers with pine handles.
I guess I could use pinking shears and pretty paper but still don't know how to stick them on. (Post it's keep falling off).
Any ideas at all would be gratefully received.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10
