Morning, I have just finished painting an old varnished mahogany side table one of two nest of tables middle one was beyond repair so just got the big one and small one for free (one of my first painting projects apart from my wicker baskets) Table is done in homemade CP with cream emulsion and is looking quite good. I have rubbed off a little on the edges to make it look distressed and it is now ready for waxing. I am tempted to get the briwax and someone mentioned another wax on her beginning with L.. cant remember, rather than the annie sloan but I have tried all my local diy shops and cant find any, do you have to get it by mail order? oh and I need a waxing brush but was going to use an old paintbrush to save money AS brushes so expensive. Cant post piccies at the minute but am working on that as well, soon as Iv waxed the table I have brass standard lamp to work on....SPC No. 295 - SPC No10 target £350

I use a paintbrush instead of a waxing brush - but make sure it's new, or ultra clean or little bits of old paint appear from nowhere and get stuck in the wax.0

Hi all, I have been lurking on this thread for ages and there's some great inspiration here!
So I took the plunge and bought these on ebay: (Sorry if the pics are massive....!)
All 3 for £21! I'm thinking of painting the dressing table white and adding some nice knobs and a glass top. The darker wardrobe I was also thinking of painting white but I am unsure of the other one. I quite like it the colour it is? What do you guys think?
I've already bought some primer and paint and can't wait to get started this week!0 -
pics are a good size I can't see small ones!
You got a right bargain there - looking forward to seeing them painted0 -

They are gorgeous. I like the dressing table as it is but would probably paint the wardrobes. Looking forward to seeing them.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
