Most of the screws are very long and have a blanking thread so you can cut them to size (small hacksaw will do the job). Better than them being too short and trying to find screws to fit (the original screws from your old handles may well fit as well so you could try those if you don't want to cut the others down)
Thanks, I tried the old screws, different thread on them. Bah! Too much like hard work, I haven't got a hack saw, even if I had I realised on my silver smithing course that sawing is not for me, especially 24 of them!;)0 -
Has anyone tried using Autentico paint and wax? Wondered if anyone could recommend it?Thanks0

I have used Autentico paint, and found it very easy to apply, probably a bit easier to get used to than Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. In my opinion the finish is a bit smoother too. I haven't used the wax so am unable to comment.
If you need a comparison have a look for Jackie at The Barristers Horse, she has given a comprehensive write-up on how the two compare in her opionion.0 -

I've been painting wicker today too, but I used rust-oleum painters touch - I primed using dulux super grip ages and didn't get round to the top coat until now. I also sanded a folding chair for outside oH picked up for £1 last summer - making use of the good weather in case it doesn't last.
No pics yet as forgot to take befores"A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

the first hamper is drying now and I wish I'd made the mixture a little bit thicker, I used 3 litres of water to 1 litre of dulux paint mixed with testers etc. Have put the waste paper bin in for a second bath.
And have done a second hamper. Kitchen is really bad now, I should have done this in the garden earlier on!
edit husband raided the fridge and I've now done 4 hampers and a small basket & a bin. Doing as much as I can as it's going to take hours to scrub the floor & cupboards so I shan't be doing big items again unless the outdoors heats up.0 -

i need help choosing an annie sloan colour please.
i knew my husband had an old chair at a property he is doing up and my little girl wants to paint it and put it in her room with a cushion on it she wants emile i think its called if thats a colour that will go with lavender/purple, but hes said today theres another one.
ive not seen them daughter says they are just all wood no padded seat if you get what i mean anyway it seems a shame to waste a chair so i am thinking of painting it and maybe putting it in our bathroom.
the room has a white ceiling with travertine cream wall and floor tiles and a light oak sideboard which our sink sits in, so my question is what neutral colour do i choose to go with that scheme.
heres part of the bathroom its not the greatest photo this was just as we were moving in and still had touching up to do but may give you an idea for colour.
