Florenceem, the corner cupboard has to be a keeper and will look lovely painted. The glass cabinet is also a lovely shape and has lots of potential. As for the bookcase thingy, I've seen one in a magazine painted in smooth eggshell and it looked stunning.
    You're going to be busy!

    P.S Great pics Chalky!

P.P.S In my hall I have a painted mule chest which contains all the bedding for the fold out sofa bed in the room next door, with a vintage typewriter on top of that, my wall of mirrors and a baguette basket from a bakery I use as an umbrella stand.

Hi, here is the bookcase that is in my hall.

Mr F had this when we got together.
Do I keep as is, get rid or shabby chic?
I wonder if the hall will just look so empty if there is no furniture in it.
What do you have in your hall?

I would say give it a go, for the price of some paint. Items of furniture take on a completely different look and can become quite inspirational when painted, as we know from postings on here. I don't think I will ever get rid of furniture again to be honest.

In my hall, I have this item: http://mto.lauraashley.com/furniture/cabinet/3395731/confirmation/garrat-chestnut-console-table?tmcampid=110&tmad=c&tmplaceref=14779&source=%7Bifpe:1%7D%7Bifpla:2%7D&gclid=CMaIz-Su9bUCFXDKtAodqxsAYA which looks lovely. But I wish I had taken time over it and found something to do up. I hasten to add that I didn't pay the price indicated but less than half of that which is, of course, always possible with Laura Ashley's numerous sales.

We've had wooden floors put down since this was taken. There's paint all over the floor here!

Hehe, I don't! I can always find something to paint to avoid housework.

I'm late to the party but I've finally updated a pinterest board and figured out how to verify it to my site too. What a palava!

It's all looking incredibly neutral... :)
