Wow! Fabulous blinds Mrs Crafty! I've never been brave enough to try blinds! Made to measure blinds would cost you a fortune!
Love the corner cabinet, the little grey drawers Cazo! Is that decoupage on the front?
The bench is gorgeous Jenny, I have the same waiting to be painted! And the chair looks great too.
Thank you! Yes decoupaged wallpaperCazo1:wave:0 -

I wonder if anyone would care to share their thoughts re my deckchairs. A few years ago I bought two lovely (expensive as I was still working then) deckchairs with darkish wood frames and white fabric with pink washed out roses. They have only had a moderate amount of use but the fabric is really faded. They are in the washing machine right now but it is doubtful that they will come up that nice. Anyway, I was given two (boring) dark green canvas replacement covers but lost them in the house move.
I now have the painting bug (ASCP) and have some leftover paint. My questions are, would this paint withstand a bit of weathering if left unvarnished/waxed and also, I have my eye on some Cath Kidston duck fabric which is 140cm wide. The finished covers are 116cm x 44cm. Would it be ok to make two covers out of the width and hang them that way? Then I would only have to buy around 1.5m, keeping the costs down. I wouldn't say they will get heavy use, given our summers but I would like them to look nice.
Any other fabrics I should be looking at that are less pricey than CK?0 -
Update. Deck chair covers washed well though the pattern has almostt gone. Maybe machine dying might be an option.0

Clarke and Clarke fabrics are similar to CK but cheaper.
I painted some wooden garden chairs last year in A.S. and they are looking VERY rustic now. If utter perfection is what you're after, I wouldn't recommend it. You might be better using a teak oil and keeping them darker. If the wood is dry perhaps they'd take a stain first?
I don't see why you shouldn't get your covers out of the width rather than the length. I have made curtains the wrong way round before doing it this way and they're fine.
You can also get specialist deckchair canvas which would be the strongest fabric for the job and it comes already in the correct width. They might also be more sun proof. Hope this helps.

sounds as though your fabric was printed rather than woven. If you dyed it then it might fade but it should still retain some faded colour all over.
If you don't want to sand or varnish the wood you could 'prime' with ESP also known as liquid sandpaper and then paint with exterior emulsion or no ESP and exterior emulsion made into chalk paint (It is just .5 cup plaster of Paris dissolved in .5 cup of hot water. Then add 1.5 cups of any good water based paint) if you don't want to use a specialist wood paint such as gloss.
There might still be some wear when parts rub against each other but the paint should be weather proof0
