I like the top one best but would be going mental if I actually had to choose one :D

    Hello all

I just bought a modern ikeeea standard lamp because I like the shape etc which is made of stainless steel (i think) and I think a spray painted silvery finish on parts of it. I'd like to distress it to fit in with an older home but have no idea.
Anybody give some pointers for a distresser beginner? I'd like it to look 'old fashioned' if possible.

    Thanks

which one is it? Ikea seem to have dozens. But you can chalk paint metal ok, and if it has wiggly bits you could use a dark wax to age it, or use two colours of chalk paint and let the underneath colour come through by sanding or something. If it's a straight stick type, maybe wrap something around the pole bit, twine/beads ...

The top one that you like best is actually the one the kitchen man prefers. He has used it in other installations and says it looks fantastic. It is so hard to choose - yes - I am going mental here.

Free sample pot of Sadolin, can chose from over 100 different colours. I ordered one & it arrived today, haven't used it yet but it's a decent sized little tin. Will do for painting sticks if nothing else.

Tesco sent me a free coupon for any magazine up to £4 ... I nearly fainted when I saw the price of mags, even including freebies. Hubs got a bike mag to circulate at work in the end and that was like £4.50. Isn't it all online nowaday/are there enough hours in the day :D

I don't do magazines either. They are overpriced and I read so many blogs instead! And pinterest is good for eye candy!

Well - 2 votes for the top one.
The utility area in the garage is separate from the kitchen - having walnut worktop in there - freebie!
