Advice please. My house was built in 1974 and still has all the original fittings.
    1. I am renovating - like shabby chic - would that look funny in my age of house?
    2. Would a cream or white kitchen be best in a shabby chic theme house. If I went for cream - what colour tiles would I go for - walls and floor?

I have a cream shaker style kitchen with beech colour worktop and flooring. I chose cream tiles as I wanted to be able to change the colour of my walls (currently blue). I figured that if I went for something neutral then I could do my walls any colour and add coloured accessories to easily change the whole look of my kitchen rather than be stuck with a colour scheme that I am bored with in a few years.

I'm planning to do the same with a new bathroom, plain suite and tiles with colour on the walls.

I can't quite see it clear enough to see where it's gone wrong, but if you pop over to Attic24's blog she has loads of very simple tutorials with fantastic step by step photographs. She has a lot of very pretty granny squares together with lots of other goodies.

Not sure where you've gone wrong on your corners there HMO, Bet you couldn't do it again if you tried tho! Lol. I crochet left handed so find it hard to advise anyone how to do it...it all makes sense in my head but I can't get my brain around reversing it for right handers.

Well I ordered my kitchen units and work surface yesterday. Went in on Monday to do it and changed my mind twice about the kitchen I wanted, came home and had a really good think and went back yesterday and ordered one at twice the price! The chap in store was fab as there's currently 15% off kitchens on top of a 20% discount, he let us put through electricals, lights, building materials etc too so we saved over £500.

Now trying to find a nice soft but strong grey satin or eggshell for my dresser....any suggestions?

i think i know where ive gone wrong i watched a couple of different videos last night in bed. ive not chained up 1 before i go into the holes along the straight section, on the corners i did 3dc, 3 ch, 3 dc i think it was but the just dc into the spaces i think i should have ch 1 before the dc. i will have to unravel it and see where i went wrong

You need to undo the last 2 rounds until you get to the start of round 4.

The first 3 rounds are perfect.

The great thing about crochet is its easy to undo if you do a booboo. :)

    My latest 3 creations.

The pink poppy pocket bag was made today.

All granny square bags in one way or another.

Love the rose one though. That one was inspired by Cath Kidston colours.

It's not as pretty as yours Is simply a plain old wardrobe that has a flat top and a white ill fitting plastic handle
Just a thought ... Could I wallpaper the door with the sae as I have for the bedroom ?
Any idea what to do if it goes into the bathroom , which is quite small.

saw this and thought of your wardrobe! I varnish in matt anything that needs a bit of extra protection

The creator says, "I painted this oak cabinet off white, added some wallpaper, aqua paint wash, and sanded it down!
