The house is a 1930's semi. I have an integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher which I love, but we were on a very strict budget so didn't bother replacing my washing machine with an integrated. We didn't have a fridge/freezer at all and the dishwasher was free as part of a deal with the kitchen.
As it was, this design was the cheapest quote whilst the others didn't have any integrated appliances or glass cabinets, just boring runs of cream boxes. The whole kitchen was just under £2k (trade) including the appliances and enough flooring to do the entire downstairs. H*mebase quoted us £10k
Where the beam is with the heart on, was the original kitchen wall...it was a very small, galley kitchen and I'm so glad we opened it up.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Thanks for your reply :0) The paint is the usual very matt finish, but when I wax it, then buff it off, some places have a slight sheen and others are still matt? I do water down the paint for the second coat, but still the same result....an Annie Sloan dealer, recommended mixing paint with wax 1-1 for the final coat, but that just turned into a gloopy mess! I will try the Liberon wax and see how that goes....
No other waxes can mix with paint, just hers so hers is an odd formula, not very wax-like! As a result I don't find it hardwearing enough. Any beeswax paste would also be good if you can't get Liberon.0 -

My bathroom needs doing too but it will have to wait, it's a champagne colour corner bath with peach and gold tiles and taps.....ruddy hideous but functional. Luckily all the windows were done just before we brought the house so that's a small fortune saved.
My kitchen was put in by a single little old lady and it probably suited her down to the ground but I don't have enough worksurface and storage so I'm having a reshuffle into the extension on the side of the kitchen.....I'm going to have a big deep larder too! Can't wait. I'm only having 6 base/drawer units in a plain ivory and everything else will be a mix of bits I already have. I've got a huge dresser, the top will be wall mounted, the bottom is going to be turned into an island unit/breakfast bar. I won't be going for intrigated appliances as I can't stand them but will make curtains to cover everything that needs it.
I've only ever had one new kitchen before and I was so broke that it was £300 worth of units and some stick on floor tiles. This time round I've got the savings and I'm loathe to spend them!

Hey ladies! I win the skankiest bathroom thank you very much. Original PURPLE 1960s tiles mostly cracked and certainly not water tight, so I have ingeniously gaffer taped half a shower curtain to them. No hot tap in the bath, odd taps in the sink and a loo in the middle of the floor. No bath panel so we can assess the leakage and have a cunning little storage space. It's hideous. Cross your fingers for me that we rip it out this year!0

Haha thanks jumblejackI've just been nosying on your Pinterest page, you have some fab projects on there.
And the bunting stays up all year, I love it! Got some square edged stuff in my little workroom too, always makes me smile.I cannot tell you how jealous I am, especially as my kitchen looks even more dark and dingy compared to that! Very nice Bibbity bob I am now following your blog. I need to blog a bit more!!.
Thanks meames, I've not blogged properly myself for a while, been a weird year. If it makes you feel any better, it was a looong and very dirty slog to get it looking like that, and I still have loads of little finishing off jobs to do in the house :eek:0 -

Yikes! I feel your pain! This bathroom was avocado with matching tiles and stinky carpet  and the house I had before this one was floor and ceiling orange wood paneling with a purple/dark brown suite and navy tiles! All in various states of leakage...I'm sure the photos much be in one of the earlier SC threads, quite horrific lol. Keeping everything crossed for you getting it ripped out soon!0 -
