Evening ladies,

I've been lurking on here for a few days reading a few of your posts etc I am in love with some of the things you ladies have made and upcylced is awesome and it's inspired me to start getting crafty. I was wondering if you ladies wouldn't mind me joining you?

I was just experimenting.

I did a small grannysquare then turned it onto its corner like a diamond shape (for the pointy bit of the heart at the bottom), then just put extra stitches into the top two spaces on each side to get the 'm' shape at the top.

Hope that makes sense.

I'm not sure that it is the best way to do it, but it worked for me.

Hi, newbie here, I've been looking at all your posts for a few weeks now and can I say you make/up cycle some fantastic pieces. For my first project into making something look shabby chic I picked up a sewing box like this http://www.sewessential.co.uk/largeimage.asp?ProductID=GB156L&ProductName=Light%20Cantilever%20Sewing%20Box. from a local charity shop and I'm hoping it turns out ok

That has huge potential - and I used to have one very similar but more blonde and I donated it years ago as I can't sew, regret it now!

Thanks ladies, I'm really enjoying painting it, it was in quite a 'well loved' condition when I bought it and the husband is going to sort out the broken hinges for me. I'm hoping to line it with something too but not sure if fabric or scrapbook paper vanished would be best. Anyone ever had a go a lining something similar before?
