  • p.s. I ordered the Hessian Sacks from the link given a wee while ago on here, so will report back what they are like when they arrive.
I wish I didn't have to do housework and I would have far more time and energy to do crafty things!

these are the Ikea drawers I started a few pages back ... painted & waxed and chalkypaint002.jpgalready buried in tut. Not sure if I'll do anything else with them but meanwhile have moved on to other things to try & clear some space!

ps that picture is where it is because it's balanced on a load of electrical sockets & plugs that are a real eyesore
  • If anyone is still looking to buy hessian, I have just bought some of this for upholstery use

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Fabric-/28162/i.html?item=390486877274&_ssn=upholstery-diy123

Very reasonably priced at £1.89 per metre and 72" wide, I ordered it on Friday and it was delivered today with free postage :)

I saw this on another board and wasn't sure if it would be useful to anyone - cheap paint in Wilkos - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4456661

Aw we dont have a Wilkos near us, not sure they are in Scotland. Im still working away in my office. Ive painted the two units and waxed them. I then ran out of ASCP in Old white so I made my own.

I did order Plaster of paris from Amazon but it didnt arrive in time so I bought some B&Q Plaster repair powder, mixed white emulsion with some F&B testers of Bone and Hardwick white and got the right shade of Old white. Its slightly rougher to the touch when dry but looks just as great as ASCP when waxed.

I decided on the sideboard to roller the first coat on with small foam roller then I used a paintbrush on 2nd coat, Im happier with this result than 2 coats with a brush.
I still cant post my pics yet. Hopefull I will have enough posts when the room is finished.

I haven't been to a boot sale since last summer - I wonder if they've started up again round here?

Not sure where you are but I'm in Nottinghamshire and the one in our local town is running, I'm sure of it.
