  • Oh my goodness i have only just found this thread!!!! Hello!

I have a few shabby chic things around my house, I will try and get some pics for you although i dont have many "before" pics!

I am planning on making a fabric pin board for my kitchen (When i find some nice fabric that goes with my lime green colours - it sounds worse than it is lol)

All your shabby bits look amazing, i especially love the telephone chair (sorry i cant remember whose it was!)

I'm just finishing off decorating my bedroom so will have some more things to show you soon :)

I've got provence and old white and am looking for a colour to paint some little antique drawers - similar to these but orangey brown pine at the moment. Do you think the mix was 50/50 or what?

now ive seen the colours up above i think it was the bottom one or even lighter it just looked a very soft version of provence much nicer than a chair he had which was just totally in provence neat it was nice but too blue for what i wanted.

then i saw the duck egg which was more green and decided on that.

sometimes I've had that when the paint is a bit thin in places - the wax highlights it. I doubt it's really pulling the paint off, unless it's wet? Are you rubbing mega hard applying the wax? I put it on with a brush on big stuff and buff two days later.

meanwhile I mixed dozens (er 6 actually) of paints together and decided the grey wouldn't look quite right so reached for an Ikea drawer thingy, which is now drying. Unfortunately the tile grout I used was all lumpy even after going through a tea strainer, so sandpapering needed - waiting for it to dry now

work in progress pic - note I remembered to cover up the pc screen & push keyboard out of the way ...

didnt see your reply. Im going to get some plaster of paris tomorrow and try it on the inside of some drawers.

I was using a brush. Shall I leave it and repaint another coat, I did 2 thinned coats and maybe use a matt varnish. I wasnt going for a distressed look.
