I've got provence and old white and am looking for a colour to paint some little antique drawers - similar to these but orangey brown pine at the moment. Do you think the mix was 50/50 or what?

Found this on Pinterest, it might help you decide. I have recently bought a tin of Provence too but so far have only painted an Ikea Step Stool prior to adding some decoupage. It's a really lovely vibrant colour.

Can I just say this? You don't need to purchase ANNIE SLOAN paint which is very expensive! You can easily make your own! All you need is matt emulsion and plaster of paris. That way you can have ANY colour you like! The recipe is three parts paint to one part plaster of paris and a little water. Just like the A.S. paint you don't need to sand first! If it's too cluggy ( this stuff dries fast!) add more water. Plaster of paris is cheap from art stores. Some people do two parts paint to one part plaster of paris. You can't go wrong.

    may go this way ...

Yes I am going to give this a go too when I have used my Provence as I have loads of items. I also have 8 F&B sample pots I could use for colours.

Thats a really nice piece. What about a greyish blue mid tone? OOps sorry Ive just realised its not a full size, sorry Im sooo tired today.
  • It is a nice piece. I'm thinking a creamy blue or a creamy grey?

    Couple of random questions.
I have white tiles in my bathroom which I hate and it's fully tiled. How do you think AS paint would stand up to being used on the top row of tiles nearest the ceiling?

Has anyone used the steel wool soaked in vinegar method to lighten/age/distress wood? I have an old dark walnut gateleg table that I really don't want to paint, but want to lighten and think this may work well on it. Wondered if any of you had any experience with it?
