Thank you
I love your bureau, what colour are you going to paint it? I'm on the look out for one too, but one without the top bit, if you know what I mean.0 -
Clear varnish *again* - really need a clear varnish that doesnt turn things yellow, just hardens and creates a tough seal/exterior. Need this to go on fabric, too..any recommendations?
In fact any suggestions or whizzy tips to do with sticking fabric on furniture is welcome!''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0 -

Go for a water based varnish as the oil based ones are more yellow and continue to darken with age. If you can wash your brush in soap and water it's water based. Some of these water based varnishes can be really tough!
For adhesive you can use mod podge, pva or spray adhesive. Mod podge can also be applied as a kind of varnish/sealant too.0 -
^^^ I honestly thought that chazza mirror was a mirror until you said it wasnt! Your stuff looks really fresh and nommy now''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0

Oh yeah, I was looking at this mod podge stuff today, wondering what it did, will have to get some! And hunt down some water based varnish. Thanks!''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0 -
Hi
I've seen something somewhere on this site (I'm sure) about a wonder primer that makes painting any sort of furniture really easy, sorts out old varnish/finishes/paint without you having to sand it all down first. Just slap on a coat of this primer and move straight to painting. Does any one else know what I'm on about and can point me towards it?
Thank you :-)Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j
