I am still painting the dining room furniture  and loving the matt finish of the Annie Sloane paint. It's the waxing that seems to take an age but I can see the end in sight, only 3 chairs left to paint :j

My wax has arrived, my charity shop pine bread bin needs one more coat of paint - I went for Laura Ashley Duck Egg - and I will give it a go! I had to open the door to the postman in my pjs. Oh the shame!!

I've had an A S chalk paint frenzy today, got two little display shelves unit thingys finished, a plant stand & a table started and various pictures and etc daubed. I'm thinning it down quite a lot. My last effort was as thick as porridge. Waxing everything will be epic.

I've got another question. I've got my eye on a varnished pine item on eBay. Hubby prefers dark wood. Can l use wax ir stain it darker?

Totally! I've not done it myself but I saw in a magazine someone turned a cheap pine four poster into a rather lovely 16th century antique looking thing.
If you want to strip off the old finish you can stain/dye it which means the wood absorbs the colour deeper. This can be useful on floors so that every future ding and scratch won't be pine coloured unless its really deep. It would also need finishing with varnish, oil or wax.
If you don't want to strip/ sand off the old finish you can just apply a coloured varnish. Make sure that you degrease it first because if it's had wax polish all over it, it won't varnish properly.

Similar to the post above, I have a pine wardrobe and chest of drawers that I would like to stain a darker colour. Currently they're stained something like antique pine or Mexican pine, I can't remember exactly, and I would like to stain them a walnut. Can I buy something that will strip the existing stain? I really don't fancy having to sand it all off!

Second edit, sorry - I think it's actually a varnish with an antique pine stain, I think it was B&Q own brand. This type of thing.

Using a chemical stripper is very smelly, and not nice at all to use. Seeing as you've got big items, I'd try to darken them with a product that goes over what you have now. Walnut sounds good!
http://www.rustins.co.uk/ These guys do coloured polyurathane varnishes...I wouldn't do water based unless you have bare wood...

I think the sun has gone to my head

When the washer was behind closed doors and more relevantly the plinth I didnt see the little water leak - until we built the new kitchen and then moved the washer which internally seems to still be in very good condition but oh dear - the rust under the drum at the front was awful - how dare it stand there in all new surroundings winking at me saying look at how rusty I am - so inspired by a thread on line I got the ESP out and primed it, then the Laura Ashley Scarlet Paint that I used on my chairs and well this is the end result - it has had a coat of Yacht Varnish301705_10150829798741732_527176731_9958864_1373139858_n.jpg
