  • That table looks great chika :) I've been working today so not had chance to make a start on the chairs, but I went to the car boot this morning and picked up a good haul of shabby chic bits for less than £7 (closer pics on my blog).

I've just finished shabbying up the frame in the top right, I love it! Will try and get a pic in the morning, light's too low for my camera now.

    Hi,

Shabby Chic would have been the best place to ask the question too.

    I'll merge it :)

Couldn't you have left it open just a little while longer? The reason i put it on the main board as a separate thread is because i wanted blogs about BOTH decor and homemaking in general. The shabby chic thread isn't about blogs, it's about shabby chic'ing (is chicing a word?) decor. If i wanted to ask specifically about shabby chic'ing techniques, sources, advice etc. i would have put it on that thread! As far as i know there is no current thread which serves my needs about searching for blogs, so i see no reason for this to be merged!

  • That's so cute kellyjane!

Thought I'd stop by and share the first chair in it's current state...I know a few of you were interested in Annie Sloan paint and I used 'Paris Grey' on this.

Also finally got my vintage mirrors up in the hall this weekend! Once the upstairs is decorated I'll get new carpet and get rid of the green floral monstrocity! I daren't put it down until all plastering is out the way, asking for trouble otherwise...

I have just come across this lovely thread, usually on the grabbit boards but the ideas and transformations of furniture etc is truly amazing, the only thing I have ever attempted was an old pine dressing table with two drawers, I sanded it all down and painted everything but the top in eggshell and am really quite proud of it but I have been reading about folks "waxing" the finished paintwork? what with please? I am def going to make this thread one of my haunts, tho may lurk for a little while to get some ideas if that is ok??
