Hello everyone - this is the original place where I found out about shabby chic. I've just finished my first project and thought I'd share. I bought this in a charity shop for £5. It's now living in my toilet where I think it looks rather sweet.

I thought I'd start with something simple and I'm pleased with the results. I used nitromors to strip but it didn't work too well so just went over with a sander. Then painted with two coats of homebase undercoat and primer and then two coats of sanctuary chalk white eggshell. I wasn't too impressed with this paint though. The colour is good but found the coverage to be terrible. Cheap as chips though.

Here is what it looked like on delivery day.

Now - (ignore the loo floor - It need to be updated asap!)

Hope you all like it as much as I do.

It looks great Chika. I can't wait to see what Bibbitybob does with the chairs. I'd never touch something like that.
  • I am looking for blogs about decor and homeaking on a budget. I have happened across a few, but they are all American and while they are a good read they don't seem to be as relevant to me.

If anyone writes or knows of any UK budget decor and home making blogs i would be very grateful to know them.

I posted in here because this is the home of the shabby chic thread and the flyladies thread, so i thought those ladies might be able to assist. :)

    Many thanks. x
