I'm all for vintagey and shabby chic'ey but the above throw just looks fuddy duddy to me!
I'm not keen either but I'm sure I own lots of things others wouldn't like. ;) I guess we all have slightly different ideas on what shabby chic is. I personally don't like the original knocked and slightly scuffed look of shabby chic but if others want to do that then it's fine by me. I could do with something more shabby chic for my bedroom but I painted one wall aubergine so I think I might have my work cut out.

How did you manage to post please?
I've been trying to "reply to thread" but it says that I can't.
Does anyone have any suggestions please, or should I just contact the admin?
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I didn't do anything! I just posted this then blushing Bride made a thread over there and asked who approves and suddenly I could post! Maybe try clicking on reply to thread and seeing if the reply box comes up? Let me know if not.

    No, I'm still getting the,

You do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

On my account it says I've been a member since Feb but it won't let me post, even on the hello bit.

It probably knows that I'll spend even more time looking & not doing, so knows I'll never get pretty pictures to show.
  • I think that throw is lovely. A bargain at 15 quid.

Of course it's each to their own, it would be boring if we all liked the same thing ;)

I know there are three versions and hundreds of shabby chic pages on MSE and to avoid trawling through all these pages, I'm after some inspiration for a large dresser I may buy...... Can you put some photos up of what you have done to yours etc?

    Many thanks

Lovely dresser. I bought mine which had been painted by someone else. It was actually the cheapest way of buying one. I do actually want to redo it as it has wallpaper on the doors which I don't like and the top has been painted brown. I think that's why I got it so cheap but I will get around to redoing it at some point.

Thanks Shirl..... the above isn't a cheap find unfortunately, it's still a fair few quid, but need some inspiration and know over the months/years there have been plenty on here!

No it doesn't look cheap at all. Have you looked on Ebay for something cheaper? The bigger dressers tend to have less interest because they can't be fitted into the average car. Well this is MSE so I have to ask.;)
