Thanks annie-c that's good advice and in my stupidity I'd overlooked that I already have cushions for the chairs - they are just very battered so there is no reason why I can't get some fabric and have a go at recovering them.

I suspect I'll be back for more help!

Bibbity I love your kitchen and the calkboard is such a great make-over :D
My kitchen is still to be finished :o (I started it last summer :o) but Ive told my OH to get off his behind and we are going to give the whole house a big sort out and decorate it :D

I have been collecting shelving bits to go in my sewing area ready to give a make-over too when the weather is good again (missed the last good days, I had to have an op on my hand).
Im going to sew some nice cushion covers for my sofa (pintucks and ruffles) :D
    ROLL ON SUMMER :D
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

    Such lovely transformations.

I have bought 4 new dining chairs from our local recycling centre today. They were nicotine stained and I have been scrubbing them all day but they still smell.
I want to shabby chic them
Could you please give me some suggestions?

Would they look nice all painted white, or not? Here is a photo

    P.S.
Someone on here posted a picture of a table and chairs set they had painted white, I have trawled through pages and pages and can't find it? Anyone know who it was?
