There is a special fabric glue that you put on with a little trowel type thing - will try to find out the name and get back to you. hth

The fabric glue I was referring to in my earlier post is called Pinflair book binding glue. It comes in a small pot and costs around £3 according to my friend so not sure if it would be too expensive to do what you want with it. My friend uses it for lots of crafting items which need to be stuck down and gives a great result without bubbling up or fraying - maybe there is a similar product on the market that is not quite so expensive. Could you enquire at somewhere like Hobbycraft? hth

    Hi everyone,

Sorry for the absence - finally finished the tv unit I had mentioned - taking advantage of my mid pregnancy energy to get a few things done!

It was £15 when we first bought it, painted it Wimbourne White (F&B) that we already had at home, plus some clear heart handles from ebay. The top is done with danish oil. Full post about it on my blog with more detailed info.

    Quite pleased!

    it looks fab, well done

Thanks all, I just need to polish the top to bring up the shine more, then I'm done... and on to my next project.

I have a pine mirror with quite a chunky border, and so that it ties up more with living room 'look' am planning to just apply danish oil.

Also have outside wooden bench, small table and trelissing to paint mediterranean blue.

That's a lovely idea for the jars Irishgirl
