Hello everyone! May I join you? I am a beginner but have found some lovely pieces of furniture in a small second-hand shop in my town. I found a lovely glass cabinet for £10 which will be perfect to show of our new glassware and china :D I will post pictures asap and hopefully you may be able to give me some tips and advice.

I spent a long time looking at your pictures and I hope that with a bit of hard work I will be able to achieve the same!

Thanks Irishgirl62 and Thrifty sister. When I fisrst moved in I was so annoyed at the furniture being left, but once I calmed downI realised I could do something with it. Unfortunatley I can't rehang the doors on the cupboard properly. IF I want to open a drawer I have to hold one door with my knee to stop it falling out (but It looks good) .

I was going to use the chairs as plant stands outside but thought they would be better indoors. I bedroom chair has been hanging around on the street for a couple of days. Luckily it hasn't rained and I have no shame about picking things up. :-)

Wow Meames, lucky finds! The cupboard looks great, look forwards to seeing the chair made over.

We (by which I mean OH & my Dad!) finally got the floor laid in the living room today and the furniture re-arranged. Need to find some pretty bits to make it a bit more SC now!

The sofa is OH's and wouldn't be my choice, but I've been eyeing up some lovely cushions to shabby it up a bit on the Laura Ashley site. I'm hoping I can find cheaper versions or maybe I'll get off my bum and make my own :)

Good for you Irishgirl :) Chandelier fab, bet droplets will be lovely & sparkly in sunshine.

Ps: I can highly recommend the funny farm, I'm there now. It's a lovely, peaceful, calm place with loads of time to do whatever you like (me: learning to knit you: could be finding fabulous bargains & making fantastic transformations).

My son dropped me off here on his way out into the big wide world. He's 17 tomorrow & starting driving lessons soon - WHERE exactly did the time go??? I still feel 19 on the inside, shame I don't look it on the outside:cry::rotfl:

I love your bargains irishgirl :D
I was hoping to get the shelf unit I brought a while back painted this weekend but the lawn needed cutting and it took all day to tidy the garden :(
I have missed my bits of furniture painting but I can't do it inside as I live in a tiny house :(
There are no carboots (that I know of) around here so I have to wait till I go back home to my mum in Norfolk so I can search for some bargains, Im going back for Easter so not long to wait and my mum loves CB's as much as me :D

Nicepeach I know just what you mean, my daughter leaves school this year and has started a part time job, she too is talking about driving lessons. It only seems like a few years since she was toddling about :(

    I am loving the make-overs :T
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)
