I've caved ! I put it on for a while yesterday because I had heavy laundry items to dry that just wouldn't do it naturally with the wet weather here.
I've left it on it's usual setting of 17/18 degrees (have to guess as it's an old dial room thermostat) and it will kick in again if the temp falls enough during the limited hours I've set up on the timer.0 -
We (please note the WE, democracy rules in our house
) put ours on a couple of days ago. Lady wife has arthritis in her joints and arm muscles so needs to keep warm and I feel the cold anyway, bad circulation and all that. However we try to keep it around 20 degrees for as long as the weather is not too inclement.

I caved in to my missus was sitting there looking all grumpy, moaning that she hadnt warmed up all day and the heating wasnt on,did well until now.Im hoping we wont have to have it on much though, with our combi condensing boiler, aparently good insulation and really hoping the woman downstairs keeps hers on loads0

No sign of turning the heating on yet. Still going round the house with my shorts and T-shirt on. Would probably notice it getting colder more if I worked in a hot stuffy office all day and then came home but, since I work from home, it's not a problem.
Normally got an upstairs window open to get some fresh air circulating.
Probably depends on which part of the country you live in.Matched betting profits since 11/10/06 = £1,5540 -
We are trying for decmebr 8th, which, of course, historically is a very lucky day when it come to heating, especially for Cancerians like me. The missus, being from Burma, wants to wait for the 10th but I think by then I'll be warm enough anyway (if you know what I mean)!!!And if, you know, your history...0

I agree with it depending where you work during the day.
ME and dh both work in a hot tyre factory, lots of warm rubber around, ambient temp is normally around 24 degrees, even hotter in summer, so when we come home 20 degrees sometimes just doesn't get us warm, even with long trousers and a jumper on.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Heating...whats that:D
This is Scotland where we only put a jumper on when its cold enough to freeze the ice in the loo.:rotfl:
We have a Rayburn which heats the kitchen and the bathroom which is directly above the kitchen.
A log burner in the living room which we light about 6pm, let it get really hot(about an hour) and then just leave it to cool down.
And cats are good electric blankets.
Last winter when we had a really cold spell, the temperature was 18C in the living room and we still just had t-shirts on as it felt positively tropical:D
And we only put the full central heating on when we have visitors....until their body warmth (helped along by the home made wine) warms up the house.0 -
Nope, that's it, the heating is on tonight and it is LOVELY!!!!0

Had no need for heating today. The oven was on this evening and that heats the kitchen/diner and seemed OK in lounge although I put pjs and dressing gown on early evening. DD is moaning that it's cold but we ignore her!!! We still have the windows open all the time on vent.
However, I am sure it varies depending where you live. If I lived much furhter north/Scotland then I may have hibernated by now!0 -
Nope back door and one front window still both wide open, although the brandy consumption does seem to have risen don't know if this has any bearing of central heating though really,Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0
