I put the central heating on for a visitor yesterday and like so many others at this time of year, it developed a fault. Fortunately, I don't usually put it on until November and very fortunately, I have a gas fire in one room, a log-burning stove in another and the hot water part of the combi is still working fine, should it turn cold before a plumber can make it round next week. Some quoted three weeks, so it must be peak season for them!

Seems to be a regular event in our house now to put the heating on for a couple of hours in the evening. Deffo quite autumnal weather here - leaves starting to fall, getting dark earlier and earlier, mists, robin back in the garden ...... brrrrrrrrrrh0

Mine is still off but it is oh so hard to get the washing dry indoors as there is no sunshine. It is definitely not cold at 18 today but dampness is in the air0
