  • Hi everyone! Sorry I've not been about much. Wedding plans and a really busy time at work have meant that I've had no time to do anything else. I've read everyone's updates, sorry to hear about all the illnesses going around. I hope everyone gets better soon. I'm nothing to serious but have been so stressed out and run down that I've had cold and sinus problems since the start of October, and I've had to have my depression meds increased... Anyhow, things are feeling a bit better on both counts now.

I can't believe how soon it is now - less than 2 weeks! I think things are pretty much sorted. Its just paying for things now that's causing the stress as it's all adding up. Starting to get very excited too.

Sorry I've not had a chance to reply to everyone individually, but have to dash again!

I just want this wedding malarky over with! Got another 6 people not coming - no replies but they are family so have found out not coming! I am so angry, not that they aren't coming as tbh I couldn't give a flying fig whether they come, but to not even have the decency to tell me has really peed me off big time. I didn't expect everyone to come but 6 out of 20 people invited to only reply and to come is very, well, upsetting. Obviously I mean nothing to them. Especially since it was at the expense of not inviting other people cos I thought I'd invite so called family. As far as I'm concerned, if I never see or hear from any of them again I will be happy. *rant over*

I can rotally relate to that Swinstie ..we had no one reply offically..I mean no one!!! seem rude to me tbh but hey ho...My mum was suprised when I mentioned that we had no one reply offically..not one. However, I think I also suprised when I said stuff them...i don't really care tbh I'm just assuming they all coming other than ones that have verbally told us they are not. At the end of the day as long as me,OH and my 3 children are all there that's all that matters :D
went for my dress fitting yesterday and it needs taking up a little again...so fingers crossed get it today. Managed to get my mum to do something with my younger boys jacket so not quite so big on him and she turned my FIL2b trousers up for me.
Coming thick and fast now :D Cateres to pay tomorrow DJ to ring and check details...cake to be fetched tomorrow ...decs to still be sorted and daughters shoes to be cleaned.
Me & OH had chat last night and decidd we wanted to spend friday night together...know it not traditional but don't care :o It also means he can have the boys here and they can get ready together saves him having to come to my mums for them :)
Just hoping that things go ok on the day...Not expecting things to run smothly just want a nice day...possibly stress free.....but fun and a day to rememeber :D
Hope all you others are excited and organised :D

  • Well I've taken ill again which sucks! I don't know what's wrong with me now. I think it could be IBS or something, that's what it feels like. Unsure if it's my diet or the antibiotics I'm on. Really annoying as I don't want to have to dash to the toilet during the ceremony! Diet overhaul is happening from tonight to try and sort myself out. Lacto-free, gluten-free, salmon salads and the like. No bad stuff! I would actually prefer it to be IBS rather than anything else, at least I can sort that out. Trying to look forward to everything!

OH has got the music sorted finally, got the last of the tracks downloaded. Paid for the cake (was worrying about it as the lady hadn't asked for payment yet!). I have no idea what it's going to look like until the day. She has described it, sounds lovely. She has made star shaped flowers to decorate the sponge cake and the mini cheesecakes will be in little silver cupcake holders. Can't wait to see it all set up.

A week on Saturday for me!

Nickki44 – welcome to the thread, I hope you have enjoyed reading all 14 pages! Your colour scheme sounds lovely! It’s difficult when you can’t get replies from everyone for the wedding isn’t it, very annoying! I hope you hear from your cousin. Your seamstress definitely does sound like a magician, and a fabulous one at that. Good stuff. It sounds like you are very organised :) I have added you to the first post in the list of weddings.

scorpiokitten – I wish I knew a spot cure, perhaps put a cold compress or something on them? Hopefully they will clear up for you.

kal25 – your wedding is coming up fast :D You sound all set for it. I hope the decs don’t stress you out too much x. Also, sod tradition :P Spend the night together before your wedding, nowt wrong with that.

losingpatience – I hope you managed to get your mini moon booked, great that you are going somewhere you both know you will love. I read about your selfish bridesmaid, she should just swallow her pride and get the next size up. A 14 isn’t big anyway. Sounds like you are nice and organised with everything :)

Swinstie73 – so sorry to hear that you too are having problems getting people to reply, I think it’s plain rude for them not to let you know either way. I hope you had a good hen night to make up for things!

Bluespirit – sorry to hear that you are ill as well, glad you are on the up though.
  • :T katie1234 - GOOD LUCK FOR YOUR BIG DAY TOMORROW! :j
  • Katie1234 - Good luck from me too!

Kal25 - I wish I could have your relaxed attitude. I'm still fed up with people who won't tell us whether they're coming (really just for catering numbers more than anything.) That sounds lovely spending the Friday night together, especially if that's what works for you both.

Enchantica - Sorry you're still ill. I suffer from IBS too, hate it! A couple of things that I find help me though - take acidophilus tablets, as they massively increase the good bacteria in your gut (far more than activia type drinks!). And if you can face the thought of it, get a colonic. I just had one at the weekend as it always guarantees I'll be pretty symptom free for a good few months. Your cake sounds lovely - make sure you post a picture of it afterwards (and everything else of course!)

A week on Saturday for me too. Getting our orders of service and place cards delivered tonight, have confirmed a few other things, and have to do some bank transfers tonight too. Now that it's November, it really feels close now and I'm getting very excited!

Hello ladies, just nipping on to bid farewell! The big day is Saturday, everything is in hand, just need the weather on side now!

Losingpatience, our friend is playing Norah's Come Away With Me as the register-signing music - it's a beautiful song. Hope you manage to persuade your OH!

Good luck to danielley, kal25, Miss Stellerstar, and poppyscorner, the other Bonfire Brides - and I'll be back at some point with pictures!

Good luck Zimm - i'm praying to the weather Gods for you!!

Enchantica - have you had food allergy tests? I spent 2 years being ill, tired, generally unwell, no energy, stomach cramps, bloated, terrible wind, consitpation or diaorrhea - one day I thought sod it and booked in for some food allergy tests. I knew i was ill if i ate bread 2 days in a row, so i thought i'd see what was making me ill and go from there. it was the best £55 i ever spent. I'm allergic to penicillin (which i've always known), and have an intolerance to yeast, mushrooms (I used to eat mushrooms with every meal!) and Wheat. I cut them all from my diet (no point forking out all that money and not acting on the adice!) and felt absolutely worse (seriously depressed) for the 1st 4 weeks, but stuck with it, and not only have i lost 3 stone, but i feel so much better. and if i accidently eat something with wheat or yeast in, i soon know about it!

Losing patience - i just asked my bridesmaids if they would mind buying their own shrugs, as i couldn't afford on top of the dresses and alterations - they both agreed, and they have arrived today (from china!) and are stunning. total cost for the items, postage and customs for 3 champagne coloured fur capes was £77. Less than the cost of mine on it's own!!

Our table plan arrived today too - i am absolutely thrilled with it - it looks stunning!! so much better than i had imagined. I'm still waiting for the table names (places we have been on holiday together) and the post box card to arrive.

I picked the suits up today for the boys - they've tried them on, but i'm not allowed to see them on lol.

I've just booked a table at the hotel for 30 people for the Thursday night, for 7pm for a 2 course carvery for £13 each. I'm dropping OH and son at the hotel - eating with everybody, and then going home to spend the night with my BMs. I'm getting really excited now!!

    Just a week to go!!

  • Well I've felt a bit better the last 2 days although still got some niggling pains. Hoping it is passing.

losingpatience – I think it’s ok to ask for the jackets back since you forked out for them and they weren’t cheap. If my friends wanted my bridesmaid dress back I would have given it to them as they paid for it and I’m unlikely to wear it again. I’m not asking my bridesmaids for theirs as they picked them themselves and may have a chance to wear them again as they aren’t typically ‘bridesmaidy’.

nickki44 – thanks for the advice, I may look into those allergy tests. I have felt better the past 2 days, tummy is still a bit sore but I think I’m on the mend. Hopefully! Completely changed my diet so that may have helped. Cut down the sugar and caffeine and on gluten free bread and lacto free milk. Anything to make me better for a week tomorrow! That’s great that your table plan arrived and that you love it, yay! Wow only a week to go for you!
  • Good luck to our firework brides: danielley, kal25, Miss Stellerstar, poppyscorner and Zimm190!

Have fabulous weddings and come back with photos!
