GB I am all for pedometers! Do you even need to lose any weight? Piquant was doing like 18K steps a day on days when she was working and she is losing loads of weight.

I usually sit on my fat bum all day so the pedometer really helps me keep up with making sure I move my body.

Wouldn't mind losing about 50 or so of my 220 lbs  but unless I go back to skating, it's unlikely to happen as I have never found an exercise that I actually enjoy, apart from skating. I still have my skates, and I know I don't still have 'the fear' since I broke my tailbone, but I have nowhere to skate. :(

I too sit at my desk all day (can't tell you how painful that was with a broken tailbone... !) so the ped is probably a good way to get moving.

skating is in ice or roller?

i dont like exercise either but I am forcing myself to at least do walking. I have put on 3s since I came to the UK from 10s to 13s in the last 9.5 years. Not brilliant.

My main issue is chocolate. I love to horseback ride but I am too fat at the moment

Sun is still shining down here and I am so happy!

  • Quad roller :)

Practically lived in roller discos as a teen in the 80s, didn't skate for 26 years and discovered roller derby a few years ago. Lost 2 stone when I started skating again, broke my tailbone, couldnt skate for 18 months, put it all back on!

My pedometer has broken :( I think it got wet :( I won't be getting a new one, lack of funds. However, it really motivated me to keep moving, always making me try to round the steps up to the next hundred or thousand. Highly recommended!

Hey gang, if you haven't got a pedometer but have a smartphone (may only work on iphones?), download the Walk 4 Life app - it measures your walks, plots them on a map, works out your speed and how many calories you've burnt, and it's free!

    It gets quite addictive :)
