Oh my Darling, you sound so stressed and fed up - still, at least you could motivate yourself to post which prevented a demented mob of your friends in the box descending upon you using various dodgy means of transport. I myself of course would have made the journey on my granny scooter (I haven't got one yet but I would buy one) and Mara would have sent me a tartan beret complete with orange hair so of course you would have seen me coming from miles away:rotfl:

I haven't been around much as coincidentally my job is causing me all kinds of trouble and occupies almost my every waking thought, however I am having a worry free weekend for a change and DGD1 stayed last night which never fails to lift my spirits. She would insist, however, on standing in front of the telly while I was watching BGT and whilst the screen is massive all I could focus on was the back of her little blonde head with the cute little pony tail on the top!

I know that things are rubbish at the moment, however this WILL pass (just as your pile has - so has mine, thank goodness for modern medicine eh?) and of course we are always here for you.

I am glad that the magic hat has achieved it's objective and calmed your thoughts somewhat - no doubt the fact that Mrs PG wore hers as well and communicated a calming mantra through the box helped.

Right, onwards and upwards - keep in touch and I promise I won't disappear again either.

    Dot
    xx

need the magic hat for one more day. going to tell boss that I am taking the new job working regular hours. I dont know if it is 100% the right thing to do but working what we call "seconds" or mid shifts for the last 3 years has really had an effect on my work life balance.

On the con side, the job I have now is secure secure secure.

Am sure Dot won't begrudge you hanging onto the magic hat while there are so many uncertainties in your life (she can always dig the cauldron out and concoct another).

So you are swapping a secure contract for more convenient hours with a commute, NewLeaf?
..Rather you than me, girl ;) but am totally in awe of the remuneration your bosses must have offered to make it worth while.. Bodes well for debt-busting, eh? :D

You keep the MH for as long as you need it, my dear friend. I am going to ask our friend Mara (you there my little Scottish chum?) to virtually buy me a Super Gran hat and virtually send it to me through the box which I will of course imbibe with my magic powers and wear it............as I feel a change of career coming on:eek:

So when I appear for interviews in all my sartorial glory, with my invisible tartan beret with the orange hair, I shall have the confidence to present a compelling and persuasive argument as to how the fortunate company whom I have selected to be my future employer should offer my a position as I will be an asset to their company.

    Watch this space:o

So you lose out by the price of your commute two days a week for six months? But keeping three days at home and otherwise better conditions is more than handy. Am sure you've made the right decision for you and your family, and perhaps even now are totting up the positives in this change. :)

Hope Mom is making progress too, and that side of Life is also becoming easier for you.

Hope your friend was sensible and put away a gert big chunk of whatever the taxman left her, for just such a day as has arrived.

Work life balance is invaluable, I think if you have come to this decision with your gut telling you what to do it will be fine. :T

No job is 100% secure, and yes there are scary stories out there. However you are well thought of and I hope this helps you out good luck! Well done! :T;)

Oh Mara it's perfect - I shall accept your wonderful gift with gratitude and love and if I look as gorgeous in it as the handsome young man in the picture then the sky is indeed the limit:rotfl:

God you lot don't half cheer me up - sorry to Robin et al for not posting in your diaries but it's just so blooming full on at the moment, but you know that I love you all:T
