Dear Dot, does the magic hat work to get rid of the lurgy? If so please could you send one my way, I'm fed up of not feeling well and need all the help I can get. Plus I'm back to work on Tuesday and will need to find some strength from somewhere.
Yes Granny, I am quite sure that my magic hat will make you all better, however when I had a quick read of the last few posts of your diary earlier in the week I was so tempted to offer to send it to you so you could find the strength to kick your old man right up the bum for being so insensitive. Pulling a face cos you were having a quiet knit when the washing up was still in the sink
If I had introduced myself to you earlier we could have been friends by now and I would have felt justified in saying something, however it wouldn't be right for a stranger from cyberspace to pop up in your box and tell you that imho you would be better off without him:D
I lurked for so long on this forum, and never felt that I could join in as I am not in debt therefore didn't feel that I had anything tangible to offer you all, and you all pop into each others diaries, and of course I don't have one, and imagined that I wouldn't be made very welcome............how wrong I was on so many levels. Yes, you all have debts, but my God how you are all dealing with them, with stoicism and good humour. You encourage and support each other and it must feel like a lifeline for you to be able to come here and talk to like minded people. I realise now that I did you all a great disservice. The point that I missed was that we are all women (well, the ones who's diaries I read are) and you talk about all sorts of things, many of which I have real experience of.
So I took a deep breath and wrote to Robin when she told us that one of her old dogs was failing, as my old lad died last year and I really felt the urge to talk about him. And talk we did, and I was so glad that I had posted. I like to think now that I add a bit of wit and wisdom (where appropriate) to your diaries, and I will pop over to you again, and this time I will post,
DGD is here, we have been playing with her Peppa Pig tea set. So far I have had a cup of tea in the milk jug, sugar bowl and tea pot itself - she doesn't seem to be particularly interested in the cups themselves. She is supposed to be having a nap but I can hear her chuntering to herself so I don't suppose that is going to happen - which is a shame as I was going to have a go at belly dancing as you know. This will be an interesting experience as I don't appear to be particularly flexible round the mid section (which is why I am not very good at Zumba) so instead of swivelling my hips I seem to move the whole of my torso:rotfl: So if you see a middle aged belly dancer of BGT this year it won't be me:)0 -
We are really glad that you came out of lurking!

Oh dear Dot your posts have a knack of making me giggle whatever they contain. I love the thought of you telling me to give OH a kick up the wotsit and know sometimes he is incredibly difficult. He means well, most of the time, but is incredibly self absorbed. However, today, when I had a funny turn in the supermarket he was brilliant and really concerned. It is times like that make me realise he has his good points as well as his bad. There are much worse than him out there, I should know I was previously married to a real horror.
Anyway, I consider you as one of my friends, even though we haven't really spoken before and welcome anyone who wishes to join me in my debt bore. It is sometimes difficult to know whether its appropriate to post something but please don't ever feel reluctant to post on my diary.
I had a similar afternoon with DGD2 recently, although we had tea in the cups, porridge in the sugar bowl, cheese and ham on the plates and slurp? from the milk jug. They have a lovely way of making a day that little bit more pleasant and memorable don't they.
I hope your memories of your beloved friend now outweigh the sadness that arrives when they are forced to leave us.
Speak again soon

Oh what a lovely post, Granny, I am so glad that the OH is not as bad as he appeared to me when I read that post. I will indeed pop over to your thread, but before I do I must tell New Leaf about my belly dancing experience. DGD did indeed nod off so I you tubed and did the dance of the seven veils. I started off with a stitch and now I think I have dislocated my hip! Christ, it's hard. Probably did too much:rotfl: FYI New Leaf the one I did was in four parts (but only did three before I terminally injured myself) and it has two stunning tiny asian ladies I think they were twins, actually I think it was us cos as you know we are twins. So knock yourself out girl and let me know how you go on (If you think it will interfere with your cathiter maybe stick to your walking dvd - is it Leslie Ransom - think that's her name she is on you tube and I do her walking workout sometimes........ooh we are such athletes, shall we do the 2016 Olympics?0

My dishwasher broke. I don't know how much it is going to cost. How awful.
Do you really need a dishwasher NL? I stopped using ours about 10 years ago - I would never have bought one, it was Mr Dot's which he had when he lived alone. I only wash up once a day during the week, straight after tea - I wash, he dries, 10 mins max - sorted. It saves a fortune on water and electricity. I always cook from scratch so of course the kitchen looks like a bomb site but even so, a squirt of fairy and a washing up bowl of hot water does the lot.0 -
We probably don't need the dishwasher . Will discuss with OH. So far she has agreed to think about giving up the car. Best not to add too much more to the weekend.
Belly dancing report: housekeeper sees me and yells out " hoopla hoop bubonick" and falls on the floor laughing.
I do the Leslie Sansone. And I am wearing a pedometer.
Tomorrow I have to go to the office tomorrow (I can't feel you all recoil in horror for me) I have to do a telepresence session with a bunch of VP's and present my business plan. Since they only see me from the waist up, I will wear usual telepresence outfit. Thick socks, Birkenstocks, jeans, designer blouse and suit jacket! Ha ha! It starts at 5pm and ends at 7pm. I was hoping for a blizzard tonight so I wouldn't have to go in, but I feel Mother Nature might not cooperate!Mortgage: £280,752/ £262,515.84

Just delay calling an engineer until the car decision is made, then it becomes habit! On a more MSE note have you checked for blockages in the pipes of said dishwasher and de-gunged it recently?Start info Dec11
