we are walking it a line at a time, getting in as many stations as the weather and our health will allow in each go. We have a whole website dedicated to this project, which will be live in a few days. If you get a chance check out www.thehealingfoundation.org . It is a charity that deals with physical disfigurement such as burns, mastectomy reconstructions, people who have been disfigurged through terrorist attacks like the 7/7 bombings, cleft palets etc.

Both myself and OH are disfigurement sufferers, OH on her face and myself on my body. So we thought we would do something different and walk the tube lines.

Maybe other people will walk a line for their chosen charities as well.

    Hello NewLeaf, :hello:

I had a careful look at that charity website, trying to work out who actually gets practical help from them.
..It's all too 'corporate' for me, I'm afraid. :o ..What have I missed?

I hope you have fun tracking the routes of the underground while you're fund-raising, and discover some new areas of London you'd not come across before. I would join you for the fascination of that (though suspect that walking through all the traffic fumes would be a problem).

    Hi Robin,

This is the important one to me
Helping to promote and fund training of health workers in the clinical and psychosocial areas of reconstructive surgery, both in the UK and in developing countries.
(Helping PTSD, etc to becoming disfigured)

but also funding research into treatments for burn victims (like those plastic face masks)

ok all here is a question. if I upped my direct debits to pay over minimum payments do we count that in over payments or is thet just for one off payments?

It would count as an overpayment, if it was going out every month it would be an overpayment every month.

I'm not sure whether or not you can up a direct debit, you might have to set it up as a standing order [this might differ depending on banks, fairly sure with mine the direct debit amount is set by the receiver]

Either way it's a regular overpayment!

I know with some companies you can instruct them what to take by way of DD, ie minimum, set amount, (must be higher than minimum) or whole balance. However as you don't control this, you'd find it hard to stop it if you needed to not pay the extra that month. It may therefore be best, if you leave the DD set how it currently is and then set up a SO to pay the extra each month. I too would count it as an overpayment.
