Just got off the phone with the lovely people at Consumer Direct.

The way they break down the overcharge scenario is basically into two aspects of the law: (1) The civil side where the customer enters into a contract with the retailer and (2) the corporate side which is where prices are advertised that are false.

On (1) she was not very helpful, indicating that I may have a long uphill challenge on my hands for compensation. On (2), she said TS would investigate because this is a criminal offence.

In a nutshell, regardless of whether you get R&R, I will now report Tescos for every single overcharged item, and advise you all to do the same. The penalties are much higher for them and TS far more interested, but obviously TS need lots of evidence from good law-abiding citizens like us!

Do you not think that you could be the instigator of the 'end of R&R'. Ok so you've got a fair gripe but I think you need to look at the bigger picture. There are a lot of people getting a lot of items from Mr T for nowt, and so they should, however do you not think that should we start threatening legal action etc they may well say enough is enough. You have to remember that no other supermarket chain offers such a great policy.
To be honest your lucky to find R&R's the staff at Blackpool are really on the ball nowadays so there's very little to be had.
Please don't be offended by my post it's purely my opinion.

I have been in tescos today and bought an umbro jumper and jogging bottoms. They were on an offer if you buy the top at £15 you get the bottoms (£10) free. The offer didn't action and I was given a refund for £10. Can anyone tell me if this is right. Should I have just got the refund for the bottoms.

Not bothered if this is right as I was buying them anyway but I would just like to know for future reference. Thanks

No, you should have had a full refund on both item, as you needed to purchase both for the discount to kick in. Go back and ask for the other £15 they had off you.

Petrol Coupons have finished now but you may find the odd one on the car park floor.

I bought 2 cadbury's selection packs £2.29 each or 2 for £4.00, the yellow label expired on the 26/09/06. The offer DID kick in.

Did get the peanuts & 6 boxes of Quality Streets. :j

Lots of food offers expire on the 03/10/06 so Wednesday may be a good day for new stuff.
  • apologies for the standard annoying question but does anybody know if any/all of the GOTW discounts are still not coming off or whether they've been fixed?

was thinking of trying a few places tonight but don't want to waste my 5p-off petrol!!!

Sorry, what is the quality street offer and is it still working (or not working, depending on how you look at it!)?

URGENT... I'm on to something big regarding the bans currently being dished out, whether at individual store level or nationwide level. I can't say what it is, as the organisation involved has asked me not to name them on a public forum.

If you've been banned, and you personally believe this is connected with your R+Ring (although Tesco don't have to give a reason for a ban) .... please send me a Private Message and I will give you the e-mail address of the person you must contact. If a few of us do this, there may be some very exciting developments.

The offer has expired 26/09/06 & is 2 for £5.00 on boxes of Quality Street, Celebrations, minature Heroes e.t.c.
The new offer is 2 for £6.00 which the offer kicks in but an overcharge if your store still has the old labels up.

Look in sweets aisle & seasonal christmas aisles, things like these are displayed all over shop.

Thanks to previous posts which I have thanked.

Cheers, stores round me are usually on the ball with old POS info, so I'll not go out of my way to check for these but will keep an eye out!

    Thanks again

  • The girlfriend has just gone up Tesco to collect a refund on a DS+GOTW she purchased last week.

Joanne was contacted and sent an email out stating she has spoken to the store and just to take the receipt up there.

Girlfriends spoken to CS who have refused to give a refund. They phoned the manager who refused to come downstairs! His decision is final and will not allow a refund. They also refused to confirm the refund with HO!

What appalling service. Partner is just about to phone HO and have a moan at them.

How rude that the manager refused to come downstairs! Disgusting.
