Whilst trying to find some R&Rs last night I noticed that Tesco have now put several signs up around the fresh meat area saying "CCTV is in operation in this area to protect our customers, staff and stock" (they were not there last week when I had a couple of successful refunds). Protect them from what I might ask? Paying the correct price? If only Mr T would charge the correct price then there would never be any R&Rs, would there??

these are only used in stores where there is an issue with 'shrink' on that department. New stores, or those who have just had a refit are also likely to have them. Meat is a high value product, and like coffee and make up makes up a large percentage of value stolen from the company. Like I say, certain stores are affected more, maybe this is why they have introduced it at your store.

Good luck to taxiphil, I am glad his situation has been sorted.

I still have a ban on my head and I wouldn't even class myself as a serial RnRer. I have a had a couple of things, yes, I admit to that but I am NOT a criminal (contrary to some people's beliefs on here)

My next step IS the national newspapers who will hopefully put a huge damper on Tesco's profit news of yesterday.

    Wish me luck
    I haven't got one!

I've noticed lots more of these about too - I am beginning to suspect that the stories about SELs being 'planted' may be true - I can't think of any other reason for the signs. Unfortunately, there are always some people who will cross the line.

I personally think it should be him contacting me to apologise for the way I and others have been treated over the past couple of weeks. If he can contact one then why not others?

yep, the Press involved = very dodgy ground for Tesco

It's a fantastic subject for an under-cover TV report, isn't it? Hidden camera, a quick scoot around the meat section, pick up some illegally mispriced items and straight to CS looking like a newbie and (very probably!) getting offered the difference!
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

You're asking the wrong person, Cheekymole. I can't answer for KK. Sorry. :(

How on earth are these items "illegally mispriced" ?
