Expired Tesco vouchers

Sorry to report otherwise. I too had some vouchers which were past their date. I rang the clubcard number and they said that because they had been issued 2 years ago I would have to write to Tesco Ithink it was in Dundee and enclose my vouchers.
This I did, and they wrote back saying they could not replace them, that it was also not their policy to reissue them by phone, which I had already done on previous occasions, and they also informed me that they had destroyed the vouchers as they were no longer of any use to me.

Has anyone successfully had them re-credited?
I just used them on-line yesterday. It was o.k. I've got the email that they despatch my order now.

From what I can gather from my friends i'm not alone in doing this (though this is the first time for me). Some say they keep forgetting to take them to shop or just forget to hand them over at the till.
It would be much easier if Tesco adopted the same system as Boots ie just collect the points on the card. Should be fairly easy for them since they already use our shopping habits to target us with specific items/vouchers/offers and they could save on postage.0 -
I already worry that I might accidentally leave my Boots or Nectar card at the checkouts, as anyone finding it could just spend your points. At least with Tesco you are not carrying your "rewards/deals" around with you.0

We forgot to use ours by 28th February (Had been saving them until the very last so we could use the day out vouchers any time over the summer) and suddenly realised on Tuesday (2nd March) that they had expired. I immediately tried to order day out vouchers on line and they went through no bother. I've had the email saying they've been dispatched now.
I usually use each one for a £2.50 day out voucher (worth £10) just before they expire, then I have 6 months to use the voucher, and the rest gets credited back and arrives on my next statement with another 2 years until it expires. Currently have £91.50 saved up in clubcard vouchers and 5 x £10 day out vouchers for this summer. I'm going to get a holiday one day!0 -
that's a good idea - i didn't know you could spend only part of a voucher, always thought you had to spend the whole amount.0

Yep, I only spend the minimum and get the rest credited back using the online ordering system. love it.glitter123 wrote: »that's a good idea - i didn't know you could spend only part of a voucher, always thought you had to spend the whole amount.
. Does mean that most of our days out revolve around places we can pay for with Tesco vouchers on though!
Did you get any joy with out of date ones glitter123?0 -
just realised some vouchers expired end of May, just used them on-line and they have gone through! Wasn't sure about calling tesco customer services because I have been refused before about crediting my account.0

Strictly speaking the vouchers have a life of two years i.e. 'valid until .... ' but there is a window of opportunity to convert back to points the vouchers for May & Feb '10. Anything older than that, sorry no chance - they are dead! And 'Feb' will be 'dead' soon to, so if you have any of those - ring.
Likewise, if you have accidentally disposed of your vouchers (within valid dates), recycled, washing machine, dog - whatever, then call clubcard.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0
