Ah, so glad my O2 contract runs out mid-november.

Wonder if this will force down the price of the current top-end android phones?

Even though im out of my contract now, i wont be getting it due to its size. I was hoping that it might bs slightly smaller than a desire like the iphone 4 is to the 3gs.

Also just noticed that the desire HD is bigger than the samsung galaxy S. And when i held the galaxy s, i thought the phone was huge.

it's essentially the UK version of the HTC Evo

That's a bit disappointing - I thought the Desire HD was going to be an upgrade over the Evo's specs. It does have an extra 256MB RAM but other than that it's essentially the same as the Evo. Pricing isn't that competitive either.

Also, what happened the the Windows Phone 7 phone they were going to unveil today?

Reports seem to suggest that the WP 7 handsets will be next week.

I'm a little disappoint that the HD didn't have the 1000+ x 680 screen the rumour mill was quoting, but I guess its down to power usage ?

Rumour has it that the Scorpion (or whatever they finally decide to call it) will have full HD and be released early in 2011. It's also supposed to be getting a 1.5ghz processor.

must admit i went with the desire over the galaxy as i preferred its size
