toll bridges pi** me off... especially the QE2 bridge (J31- M25) That particular one was indeed supposed to stop tolls years back (once the build costs were made back) but the company who owns it made a deal to build a second bridge as long as they could keep charging tolls -.-

Now THAT makes my blood boil!

Oh and at the OP, I too am not sure what most of your post was saying, perhaps a translation is in order!

Wales, where the men are men and the sheep are nervous!

    j/k ;)

The toll is for the use of the bridge - not entry to Wales and it's only the new bridge that has the toll in Wales - the old one had the toll on the English side.

I go to Wales often - born there, loads of friends & family there - and the toll booth staff are always lovely.

Don't forget that if you want to be treated with courtesy, treat those who are only doing their job with courtesy.

And that is why there is a really bad problem with people using stolen/cloned cards just like with tesco self service tills. Fast is not always good

Why did this bizarre old thread get dragged up again?

Thanks ever so, to the OP. I haven't laughed so much in ages.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I take it you didn't enjoy your stay then. Listen, everyone has to pay to enter wales - even I do and I live there! Sounds like your trip was a right nightmare - shame because my country is wonderful and so are the people. :j :j :j
So much so, I moved from England to be here and paying the toll fee on the day I actually moved here with all my stuff crammed into the back of my car I thought was the best £4-odd I'd ever paid!

Not sure but as I am off to Swansea in the morning I am glad it did, I will ensure I have the correct change for the toll, I would have assumed I could use a credit card otherwise.;)

I suspect barriejohn69 has just returned to the forums after a long absence, or decided to go on a trip down memory lane.

Credit card facilities without pin entry should be illegal (except ofcourse in a shop where a signature can be used or in this case a manned turnstyle). Creditcard entry with pin should be a feature on all the turnstyles on the bridge whether manned or not, i.e. even when they are closed they are all open for card/pin payment.

It's obvious Wales is better than England. People are willing to pay to get into Wales :p

btw I'm fairly sure this is some kind of CIA code being used by the OP as it aint English
