No thats what we are told she said by the boy who lost it after watching it on the CCTV with no sound remember..

    Ah, I see.
So when you asked me to remember that the cctv had no sound, it wasn't something that the OP had said, it was your theory based on your job.

Not the same thing really, is it?
I work with one of the best CCTV set ups in Britain - they have no sound unless you spend money on putting a microphone next to where you are watching - JJB wont do this as it costs extra to set up and for the equipment they have it to prevent and / or catch shoplifters and to make sure no one is stealing from their tills - there is no way on Earth that JJB would spend more money then us on CCTV.

I dont disbelieve her either and i feel for her son but hey as i said its a police matter and she should be hassling them for its return.
Sleppystar - Plug in Ipod - open Itunes. and the bit where your ipods directories comes up will be a place to click once and put your name in as if your editing it like you were tagginga tuen in the music menu

You say above you don't disbelieve the OP but you're definitely stating that the JJB cctv system won't have sound.
To me, that means you're saying that either the OP (who wasn't present at the viewing of the cctv recording and had the information 2nd hand from her son) or her son are not telling the truth when the initial post contains very specific dialogue that supposedly came from the cctv recording.

Polly, OP was asked, several times in this thread, whether the recording had sound, and preferred not to answer.

All probability is that the store didn't have sound at all, as 99% of stores wouldn't, therefore the conversation is quite likely to be largely guess work.

Can you see why that would make one sceptical of OP's version of events?

I really dont think it takes audio to ascertain that the woman asked for the ipod, her lips moved, the shop assistant nodded and gave her the ipod, common sense can fill in the dialogue, it is not as if they settled down and got into a deep conversation. That she mistakenly said Iphone and was corrected could have been passed on by the sales assistant who queried it.

Lets not forget the OP did not go to the store, it was her Son, her Son described the events to her as he saw it, she has merely passed this information on to the thread to describe the event.

This silly notion that the OP is lying is ridiculous, if I were in the OPs shoes right now, even I would not bother updating this thread, as its sounding more like a witch hunt in a childrens school playground than a civilized debate.

See your just picking an argument now - ~You knew exactly what I meant by saying i believe the OP - As In i believe what has happened to her..I do not believe that they could hear or read what was being said on the CCTV now stop being so bloody picky for once in your life would you.

I don't think we have any proof the OP has a son. :p

I think we are all forgetting that all JJB staff are skilled lip-readers (or should that be mouth breathers) so sound is not needed.

They need to learn this so they can serve you while still listening to the loud music that plagues their stores.

Though again, the cameras look downwards not across or anything else so seeing someone's lips move then would be harder the passing a brick through your bottom

I assume with all the evidence the son has presented to the police by now they must be well on the way to tracing the woman who was given the ipod.

So the OP's grandson should be reunited with it soon.
