Have you actually tried to speak with them?

If the word locally is that he is committing fraud, then one would assume that he would have been reported already.

Lets hope it doesnt back fire on you if you decide to go ahead and cause trouble. Are you in a position to move if needs be?

Be an adult and go speak with them!

    PP

I think going and speaking with them is the last thing O.P. should do.

If this selfish neighbour had any consideration at all he wouldnt be running a noisy business from home in the first place. If O.P. goes and speaks to him he'll probably just get a mouthful of abuse for his pains - and this neighbour would know exactly who had reported him when the "speaking to" hadnt worked.

Nope - just get on and report him (anonymously) now.

My neighbour and his son do rallying so they are often outside fixing up the cars etc. Difference is, they don't do noisy work early in the morning or late at night and they clearly don't run a business. He also periodically checks if we are ok with the noise of the grinder.

I can't say it bothers me in the slightest.

I'm sure I would feel differently in your case as it seems on a bigger scale and I would definitely report if I thought he was breaking the law in any way.

The planning dept would be my first port of call. If it's all above board, then no harm done. :)

Gee this person just wants a bit of advise not abuse!!!!!! what has this forum come to???? used to help people not be nasty....

Quite. The advice I received was to stop 'spreading my legs and popping out children' (I have two) and to be wished homeless and to have my children taken off of me. That was the delightful 'Hammyman' I quote there. Still, at least while he's on here it gives his poor victim, I mean wife, a break from him.

You were also given a lot of good advice and information it just wasn't what you wanted to hear, didn't see you thanking anyone for their time and effort though...

Deffo report them if they are making your life as bad as you make them out to be every one has a right to be in their home/garden with out the noise pollution of a car work shop next door unless you live next to registered business. everyone on here who says leave neighbour alone as he done no wrong need a reality check im sure they wouldnt put up with it.

Actually I did thank the genuine people that gave good advice, sadly those same people didn't back me up when the gorgeous Hammyman was spewing his bile.

You're acting like a spoilt 12 year old, why don't you just run along and leave these boards free for the purpose they were intended for, you're neither asking for advice or giving advice about benefits...

Another way of dealing with it could be to post them a letter signed 'a neighbour' out line your concerns/issues and see what response comes of it then at least they have been advised of what may happen next if they continue with the noise.

What a shame you've had to resort to insults again! It must be such a strain being so bitter and angry all the time - chill out poppet!
