  • Home Fire Safety check done - all well and I got an extra fire alarm upstairs.
After all my 'tidying' it turns out they aren't that bothered about extension cables (which have built-in fuses) more concerned by adapters with multiple things plugged into them - and I don't have any of those.
  • Hi ladies!

Not getting through the lists this week due to being back at work and the body has melted down due to the added task of 16 mile round trip school runs! However, I haven't let that stop me - oh no - I decided this morning to pick 5 things up in the lounge and put them in their rightful resting place. As I returned each item to its correct place, I then picked up 5 things in that room and did the same. Kept this going and have decluttered 20 things today - does that count?

Ok 2 minutes til i leave for school run!! I have emptied DW, put 2 loads of washing in/ out. Blitzed the BIG cupboard. Started in my room- famous last words earlier about it won't take long as its small!! Have sorted out 3 drawers so far and am on a roll! Even lined 2 of them with some sample wallpaper. To be fair nobody is even going to know its there except me but was so pretty seemed a shame to waste it!! Chucked out a load of out of date creams etc. Ok off to get DD2. xxx

    afternoon everyone
its actually turned out quite nice here - not so warm but bright and sunny.

    Shysarah
awh poor you - what a plateful you have - huge gentle hugs and hope you manage to control the pain very soon and hugs for your cousin and your little niece - I am sure with all the love and support they will be fine

juliejim Hi Jue I go in on monday - hopefully this time it will just be until the friday - fingers crossed:D
sammr what a lovely reason to be frugal at Christmas - when's the wedding?

Wow, it takes an age to catch up with this thread.
BE WARNED the thread is very quiet just now!!!!!! you will need to learn to either skip it or skim read or you will be on here the whole day:rotfl: and i wont be taking ' ages to catch up the thread is so long' as a reason for missing out on the housewrk:p:p:p:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Helly well you will have only your own little routines to worry about for the next few days - and all the bed to yourself:rotfl: do you have a launderette that would pick up and deliver the duvet?
Kazw I decided I might as well have as much on there as poss so i can keep an eye on things - the old memory is not what it was either:D but as you can see its not going down that much so i am not overdoing it!!!
Aunty Crafty I think it will be :D:D:D:D:D:D:D for you this afternoon! so long as its the trailing ones you will be ok

Thank you everyone for your kind words and especially you Triker for what you wrote - its lovely - not so sure i will bounce back this time :( I feel very flat/empty/drained/ no enthusiasm for anything - just want to run away!!!! I have been putting on a face for too long i think!!!
Mudders i think it would be nice to live in your household:D
Triker - makeover party/ massage /beauty treatment/ something silly like a night at ice skating or ten pin bowling and then junk food/ stretched limo to take her a some friends to the movies?
Jo squishy (((hugs))) pet - hope you feel better after a day or 2 at home - be kind to yourself.
Mumto5 what a terrible time fro your friend and what should be the happiest - huge (((hugs))) and strength to get her through the funeral - and to you too as you support her xx

wilf (((hugs))) I know you always have done things but you will have to be stricter with the others in helping - its amazing what an extra pair of hands can do for an hour and you have 4 (I have counted the 14 yo but not your OH!)
I know you are tight for space if I remember right but can you pack the ebay stuff away in boxes in the corner so it is atleast all together and maybe make ebaying part of your daily routine - thats what i am trying to do and I try to do it in the morning while I am not so tired,
you should work out a rota that they take turn about at helping with the meals, dishes and the cleaning - why should they all swan off an sit down while you are run ragged!!! I think they are all old enough to learn how to do their own washing (except Hayden) and ironing - if its not done then they have to find something else - or start with telling them that they have to produce it in the basket or in the machine before they go out to work or its not going to be done
    - and they should be doing their own rooms - maybe gut, tidy and thoroughly clean each of their rooms in turn and when you have done a room it is then their responsibility for keeping it tidy and clean and changing and making beds etc?Sorry I didnt mean to lecture - it just makes me mad that you are left to do it all xx
    ETA
what about the Anniversary declutter thread that Dusty started - its great because it makes you focus on one type of thing at a time - 1 paper 2 cotton etc etc - Dusty has given excellent suggestions under each category and you could do a whole one for a week or just a day - here is the link https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2306925

    LameWolf
glad you made it out last night - sounds lovely - you are herby on strict orders to forget the lists this week and just do whats necessary and you will feel far more up to catching up next week xx
    holly WOW!!! thats brilliant xx
nattyt well done honey for coping so well with the break=up although i am pretty sure its not all been plain sailing but you are right to get it done and dealt with so you can start afresh (((hugs)))
seafarers_wife that storage box lookslike a great idea
truly thats an excellent decluttering method - if you do it in small batches and actually put the stuff away rather than just move it its brilliant and you dont get overwhelmed either - well done to you:T
diddly74 welcome to the thread and the madhouse - I hope those essays have been started - we will expect progress reports - I cant remember a nurse here before! if you can establish little routines to keep you organised it will help with being on shifts and should give you a bit more time for the studying!!! (well thats the theory!!) will be sending you a pm in a few minutes.

have been out and done all my 'shopping' with my carer - managed to achieve most but there are always things that we run out of time on - its so frustrating! I must get a grip I am turning into a right old moaning face and i dont like me very much.
off to hang out a washing
    toots xx
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder
Live each day as if its your last

Hugs to everyone, it seems that moods are going down with the weather.
It has been a long day at work, not much needed doing this afternoon which made it pass quite slowly. There is quite a depression in the air there, I can't wait for the outcome of the Strategic Defence Spending Review, especially as my mum has already been told she is losing her job with the NHS cuts.

Not sure if I have any energy for flying but will give it a go.
