    Just noticed your note above Vanilla....Just interested.. what type of oil, is it wvo for vehicles by any chance?

    Notso

    Sorry It's for home heating oil. :)

    I've all clean clothes folded and put away. 1 velvet curtain now hanging up, it is a little bit shorter but it was too long to start of with so not too bad. Other curtain now in. :D

    My mum rang to warn me that sky where ringing looking people to take out insurance on there dish but it's a scam. She got rang on sunday and thankfully said no. :eek:

    Right DW will be finished in half an hour and then it will need reloaded. Might just finish the livingroom list now that Rhys is away for a sleep.
    Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
    And things go wrong no matter what I do.
    Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
    But you've got the love I need to see me through.
    :j :j

    morning all

    hope everyone is well

    havent caught up with the thread as have macie and its difficult to say the least

    feeling a bit fed up today

    really sick of the house being a tip!

    i generally (generally being the operative word here!) do the lists each day but never feel that my house is tidy

    i am the only one that actually does anything in here including shopping cleaning washing etc and there are 5 of us 4 adults and a 14 year old

    my daughter does help sometimes with the cooking and with looking after macie but ideally i need help in making out a plan of action to get everything done

    cleaning cooking tidying making money washing and then the whole house needs decorating!!

    any help any one on a strategy for the whole house! when its tidy i can begin looking at decorating!

    its getting me down big style

    any suggestions offers of advice etc greatly appreciated

    thanks all

    Flying, please can someone remind me to put an announcement in the paper for DD1? Thanks.

    Tired today...(surprise), need to collect my parcel so best get going. Have tons to do, also work laptop appears to have a knackered fan so keeps switching off, better get that fixed.

    Does anyone have any ideas what to do for an 18th birthday do for my DD1....she doesn't want a meal, a party or a surprise...I'm stuck which is unlike me.

    I may just bung her some money or perhaps pay for her to do something but what kind of something I dunno. Help.

    Cinema?

    Weekend away with pals? Or just with you?

    Driving lessons?

    Adult passport? (costs loads and will do as Id for years to come!)

    Special meal with you and family at home followed by DVD'd and cake and suchlike.??

    14 of us went to sleepers for dinner for DS1's 18th.

  • Back after my hour's "HHC" on bits and pieces. In that time I've:

    * Done some washing up
    * Emptied the dw
    * Ground up 3 loads of left-over bread crusts (saved in the freezer) in my Magimix, to make breadcrumbs
    * Froze most down and made meatballs with the rest
    * Emptied the compost bin

    Am just enjoying a cuppa before doing the kitchen. Craft move to make breadcrumbs this morning, eh? No matter how careful you are, they go everywhere, so there's no getting out of the cleaning now .... :-))

    Will start again at 12:00noon

    Then you need to set aside some time each week and stick to only 5 items, if you want i would do it along with you as i've loads i need rid off. How about an hour friday night? :D

  • Wilf: If part of the problem is clutter which could be e-Bayed (and a shortage of funds for stuff the family needs) then why not have a family 'set-to' to identify, photograph and list as much as you can, as a kind of game? We used to do this when my DD was smaller, to persuade her to part with toys and games which she had outgrown but clung to. It was great fun identifying a target sum for something we really wanted, and then watching the e-Bay total grow.

    Collect up the stuff in one place and enlist as much support as you can. (Those who don't participate don't get to enjoy the rewards?)

    At least it might shift some of the clutter?
