Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Savvy Shopper!
Just found this thread after doing a search for Sports Direct. I have to say the store in my city is dire, the layout and the staff are awful. But they do have some bargains. I used to shop in JJB for my son but needed a cheaper alternative and someone mentioned Sports Direct. Absolutely horrible shopping experience (in my store) but plenty of people in there.

The one in the town here is hardly ever busy for some reason. I had some nice shirts from there and several pairs of shoes but these are the first faulty ones and they are being funny treating the customer like they are out to do them out of money by returning faulty goods.

But anyway i am going to humor them and wait for them to inspect the shoes down at head office. If that fails guess its trading standards or court.

I am going to upload the footage once this is over let people see the nice customer service you recieve.

Hate to tell people this but some nike stores are cheaper then sports direct.

  • Surely they have to replace them if you have a valid receipt and they are in the box. Go above the manager's head and call head-office....keep on at them, it's ridiculous that this crook won't replace the faulty goods two days later.

This is on the presumption that misuse is not the case which is what the manager is insinuating and as such he has every right to get them checked out by HO

they have to by law but they refuse to. Head office can only be reached by email "Tried calling only to be told to email me"
when they emailed me this is what they said
    Thank you for your email.

I was very sorry to read that you were unhappy with the service and your purchase from our store.

If you still have the item in your possession, please return it to the store along with some proof of purchase at your earliest convenience. Please leave it along with your contact details for the attention of the Area Manager. You will be issued with a receipt for the item, and you will be contacted again as soon as the Area Manager has inspected the item and a decision has been made.

If you have any further queries, once you have left the item at the store, please contact the store. The number can be found on our store finder at sports direct

I trust this swift conclusion to this matter will be to your satisfaction.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience that may have been caused.

    Kind Regards

    B Holland

I have done that. However it is not satisfactory and i added that if a refund or exchange is not given i will be placing this matter before a judge.

I will to just to show them that they cant treat people this way
  • we have a problem with a pair of trainers bought for my son 2 weeks ago which have split down the seam. Did you get anywhere with your complaint? We are awaiting a decision from the Area Manager at the moment

  • I had a "conversation" with a store manager regarding a mis-price in one of their stores (only a £2 difference). Although I understand they don't have to sell at the advertised price, I tried to encourage them to do so in order to keep me as a happy customer. The manager refused point blank so I left and didn't buy anything.

I then emailed the CEO (not Mike Ashley) directly and was sent a £10 voucher as goodwill. Went back into the store, told the manager that the CEO was aware of his poor customer service and showed him the letter. I've never seen such a change in one person in all my life, suddenly he couldn't do enough for me.

Moral of the story - email the CEO directly - dave.forsey@sportsdirect.com

    Good luck
