I went in to sports direct two days ago. Brought a paid of Nikes for £39.99 i wore them for a day and i went to put them on this morning and was walking around the house got some breakfast etc
I started to notice a sharp aching feeling in my foot
i had breakfast removed the shoe and my foot felt better
on closer inspection i could see that the side of the shoe was coming a part and sticking in the side of my foot.
I returned them to sports direct and the lady at the tills said that she would issue a refund and that the shoes where faulty
but she had to get the manager to authorize it
so she called the manager over the radio and the manager came
but refused to exhance or refund the item. The lady on the till looked as shocked as i did.
All the manager did to inspect the shoe was rub her two fingers along the side of it and then said "This shoe has been heavily worn as if to say that i have worn the shoe so much that i broke it"
I was gob smacked. out of the years iv been shopping there this is the first pair of shoes that have been faulty the others i had brought in the past latested 6 - 8 months.
I had walked in the new shoes about half a mile. I was seeing red when she refused to do anything about it and insinuated that i was trying to dupe them out of a pair of shoes.
I recored the inncident on my phone. I do not know where i stand.
If i could do a charge back on my credit card or dispute the transaction as when you pay for things by credit card they are protected?.
I have been to trading standards about retailers in the past all they say is to write to the head office which seems a waste of time since you get tared with the same brush.
i had to go elsewhere and buy a cheap pair of lonsdale because having these faulty nikes left me without any wearable shoes

Fat Mike doesnt care too much but you should have had a replacement pair.one of the famous 50 -
The lady who served me agreed with me and wanted to issue a refund but the manager "also a lady but a different lady" did not agree
and refused the refund. The first lady needed the manager to authorise the refund"0 -

I agree and so did the first member of staff. Lord knows how i get them replaced.
standing there and asking for it does not do the job because the manager is not a very nice to the customer at all.
If i knew sports direct was that bad i would never have been a customer there. After a quick google search i see many other unhappy customers at sports direct.
same old story. Person buys shoes ,shoes hurt person , person returns shoes ,store tells them where to do and they walk out without a exchange or refund
I should have gone to nike directly and brought them. I am sure nike would not be like that.0 -
I found it interesting you felt the need to record it on your phone in the first place? Were you there with it in hand recording her action on the shoe (I'm guessing not and it was only the vocals).
Write a letter to the Head Office stating the facts and what you tried to do to get it remedied and go from there. The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

besides the point. they should not go around treaing customers poorly.
I am so angry i could go and trash their store "just anger talking"
£40 is not something you want to lose for a pair of shoes that cause you pain.0
