I bet you never have the same mistake when you're inputting the number of loose apples, rolls etc. that you're buying on a self checkout? Apparently you're able to manually enter voucher numbers correctly too so how can you constantly incorrectly enter the number 3 as 9?
If glare, dyslexia and your eye sight are such issues that you're unable to scan and pay for your own shopping correctly then surely you're not fit to supervise the self checkouts?
Stop making excuses, stop worrying about what other people get away with and stop thinking you're irreplaceable. If you were honestly sorry about what you done you'd stop making excuses, be honest, own up to what you did, keep your "friends" out of it as much as you can now that you've grassed on them and you might be able to save your job, but if you go into the meeting armed with excuses, going on about how you're the victim and talking about how other people get away with much worse you're going to be out of a job.0 -

the fast track system is similar to the self service tills in that you do the scanning and packing, only difference is you have face to face contact with a person0 -
The OP has been lots of good advice but only latterly seems to have understood the seriousness of the situation.
They have committed deliberate and sustained fraud.
Sensitivity is not what is required, just a harsh dose of reality.
I agree completely, I've posted advice to the OP to that end.
I just think that taking the p out of the situation isn't a 'dose of reality' it's just damn rude. Maybe it's just me...0 -
The real question is how much you are worth to your employer. If your employer thinks you are easily replaced then that is what will happen as it pulls other employees into line with no loss to the employer.
A lot of employers do not care what you are worth to them. Employees are just numbers. The person making the decision to sack is not going to be the person who is going to have to cope with the resultant vacancy.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
But you still have to overcome the tricky "how many of your own bags have you used" question!
yes with the self service tills you do but with the fast track system the checkout operator asks how many bags/boxes you usedSambucus_Nigra wrote: »Presumably, you have to trust the person scanning in the first place otherwise - who is checking that unscanned items haven't found their way into the packed bags?
No wonder they are so popular. Nudge nudge wink wink know what I mean;)
they do random rescans where you put your shopping on the belt and it gets scanned by hand0 -

The OP has tried to obscure the salient points with smoke and mirrors, most posters on here have told the OP to concentrate on the facts, admit guilt, apologise and throw themselves on the mercy of their employer.
The employer may decide to let the OP off with a warning, but they may not.
What other people, colleagues, friends, customers etc do is neither here nor there.
The various "health" issues are no defence.0 -

Points I've made in my previous posts, I'm not disagreeing with you.0 -
